Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein could both play for Rams against Saints
The Rams have been without Rob Havenstein for a month and haven’t had Tyler Higbee all season, but Sean McVay is hopeful that will change this week against the Saints. McVay is optimistic that Havenstein will be back and the team is also designating Tyler Higbee to return to practice this week. That would signal a potential return to the field for Higbee against New Orleans, as well.
The Rams didn’t hesitate to activate Puka Nacua immediately after designating him to return, however Higbee’s situation is different as he’s returning from a torn ACL last season.
Coach McVay says Rob Havenstein is ‘trending’ toward returning for Week 13; Tyler Higbee is returning to practice this week.

That being said, there is not a lot of season left.
Higbee had 47 catches for 495 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games last season. As often as he’s been criticized for drops and not being an elite receiver, consider how those numbers compare to Higbee’s replacements:
- Colby Parkinson has 25 catches for 243 yards, 1 touchdown, and an issue with drops, blocking
- Davis Allen has 6 catches for 39 yards
- Hunter Long has 5 catches for 43 yards
It seems Higbee’s value has never been more apparent.
The same could be said for Havenstein, as the Rams have had a ton of issues with protection in losing 2 of their last 3 games. Even if Havenstein can’t be left alone on an island anymore, the team could surely use him this week against the Saints.
Right now, it seems that Havenstein will start in Week 13, while Higbee will return before the end of the season.
