Survey: Will this be the year the Lions end their Thanksgiving win drought?

Survey: Will this be the year the Lions end their Thanksgiving win drought?
Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Checking in with Detroit Lions fans for our latest SB Nation Reacts survey: Will this be the year the Lions end their Thanksgiving win drought?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

Each week, in our SB Nation Reacts Survey, we will provide readers with a question or two specifically geared toward Detroit Lions fans, with an article exploring the results released later in the week. In this installment, we have two questions: the first being a recurring weekly question, and the next being designed for Week 13:

1. Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction? (weekly poll)
2. Will this be the year the Lions end their Thanksgiving win drought?

The Lions currently have a 10-1 record and their confidence is at an all-time high. The same can be said of their fan base, as our confidence polls have returned startling numbers. Since the Lions’ win over the Seahawks in Week 4, confidence polls have returned results between 96 and 99%, including maxing out at 99% in each of the previous three weeks. And now, following a 24-6 win over the Colts, it’s time to vote again.

The Lions season has been full of franchise records being set or extended and negative streaks coming to an end. The Lions ended losing streaks to the Seahawks and Titans, and they thoroughly took care of the bad taste left in their mouth from Dallas.

The next streak that needs to come to an end leads us to our second question: Will this be the year the Lions end their Thanksgiving win drought?

Despite hosting a game on Thanksgiving Day every year, The Lions haven’t won on the holiday since 2016. On paper, the Lions have massive advantages over the Bears, and with Chicago currently on a five-game losing streak, it’s no wonder the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook have set the betting line at Lions -10.5 points.

But this is a divisional rivalry game and anything can happen. Case in point, since firing their offensive coordinator two weeks ago, the Bears kept things close with the other division teams. They took things down to the wire against the Packers and were a blocked field goal away from winning. Then last week, they took the Vikings to overtime, but again failed to close out their opportunity to win. Could this be their week? Or are the Lions too big a juggernaut?

It’s time to vote in the polls below and keep an eye out later in the week for the results.
