What’s next for Brock Bowers?

He wants all of the records

Brock Bowers has been making the Las Vegas Raiders worth watching.

It’s been a miserable season for the 2-8 Raiders so far. But Bowers, the No. 13 overall draft pick, has been worth the price of admission.

He’s been unreal. Let’s recap:

  • He set a rookie record with 13 catches at Miami in week 11.
  • He has 70 receptions. He has the second most catches by a Raiders rookie behind Amari Cooper’s 72 in 2015. Bowers has seven more games to play.
  • He is the ninth rookie tight end to catch at least, 60 passes.
  • He is one of three players (the only tight end) with, at least, 65 catches in his first 10 games.
  • He is on pace to set the rookie tight end catching record. Detroit’s Sam LaPorta set it last season with 86 grabs and he’s face for 1,200 receiving yards which would also be a rookie record for tight ends.

But’s there’s much more to it:

  • Bowers is on pace to catch 119 yards, which would be a record for a tight end.
  • He is likely going to be a first-team All-Pro.
  • He could beat out quarterbacks Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders) and Bo Nix (Denver Broncos) to become the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. No tight end has ever won the award in the modern era.

So, while this season has been frustrating for the Raiders, Bowers is definitely a reason to watch the final seven games of the season.
