Daniel Jones: NY Giants’ benching was about the football and the money | The Record
There remains a question as to whether Jones will want to stick around with the organization under these circumstances, which puts both the player and the team in a tough spot. So uncertainty reigns for now with Jones essentially in limbo and the team set to hit the practice field for the first time Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Report: Joe Schoen ‘not that popular’ in Giants locker room ‘at all’ | USAToday.com
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan said the cracks are beginning to form between the current regime and the players, citing the Nick McCloud release and Tyrod Taylor not wanting to come back to the team after last year.
“I’ve talked to plenty of guys in the locker room and (the Nick McCloud release) bother(ed) them,” Raanan said. “The GM is not that popular in the locker room at all. So, these things do matter…If Hard Knocks was true, they really thought Tyrod might come back. He wasn’t going to come back. He didn’t like that he lost his job by injury again and to Tommy DeVito. If the front office really thought that, they’re completely out of touch.”
Should Giants trust Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll to select next quarterback? | The Athletic
One of the arguments for giving Schoen and Daboll a fourth season is to grant them the opportunity to draft and develop a quarterback. But their misevaluation of quarterbacks with loads of NFL experience over the past two offseasons should cause concern about the duo’s ability to land a franchise QB from a draft class lacking can’t-miss options.
But the reality is that Schoen and Daboll have had three offseasons to find a quarterback, and they landed in this mess. That’s not a comforting thought, especially with them likely feeling pressured to take a quarterback in next year’s draft. That’s how a team ends up using the sixth pick on a quarterback like Jones.
If Giants don’t fire Brian Daboll, how much time will he get to mold Daniel Jones’ replacement? | NJ.com
The final seven games of this miserable 2-8 (so far) Giants season are all about answering two big questions, now that Daniel Jones has (correctly) been put in bubble wrap.
How high will the Giants draft in 2025, as they replace Jones? And will general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll get a chance to pick and mold that new quarterback?

Dexter Lawrence: “I learned early servant leadership and that’s the way life should be. Giving back. You get lost in the season sometimes thinking about yourself only when there’s other people that should be thought about and that’s what this event is for.”

NFL Week 11 Under Review | The Ringer
It’s generally not a good thing when you receive a message about an NFL team and you’re not sure if it’s real or not. That was me on Monday afternoon when I first got the news that the Giants were turning to Tommy Cutlets (Tommy DeVito) as their new starting quarterback. That doesn’t make sense, I thought. Didn’t they sign Drew Lock to a $5 million deal to be QB2 in the offseason? Then I remembered that this is the Giants we’re talking about. Nonsensical moves have become the norm with them.
There’s a very different feel to Giants’ Tommy DeVito sequel | New York Post
DeVito gets seven games to prove to the Giants that they should bring him back — he will be an exclusive rights free agent, meaning he is under contract in 2025 if the Giants want him — and also seven games to convince anyone else out there that he belongs in the NFL, should the Giants cut him loose.

Giants 2024 Draft Class Progress Report | SI.com
While it is often hard to judge the impact of any singular rookie player with less than a dozen full games under their belt, the Giants have been seeing some very positive contributions from their crew of six novices, some of them posting efforts that stand atop the rookie pool or their entire position group.
NFL Team Needs: Prioritizing Every Roster’s Biggest Weaknesses Before Week 12 | Bleacher Report
When the Giants hired Daboll away from Buffalo, the hope was that he’d transform Jones into the next Josh Allen. Things didn’t unfold that way. If Daboll remains the head coach, he should be very intrigued by Miami quarterback Cam Ward.
The top-ranked signal-caller on the B/R Scouting Department’s early draft board, Ward has a combination of size (6’2”, 225 lbs), mobility and arm talent that could allow Daboll to do some of the same things he did with Allen.
