The Lions had their most dominant victory of the season over the Jaguars. What was your favorite play from their Week 11 win?
The Detroit Lions put together their most dominant victory of the season over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. It was a total beatdown from start to finish, and perhaps the most complete game we’ve seen under the current regime. With a game like that, there were plenty of dances, celebrations, and highlights to comb through.
Today’s Question of the Day is…
What was your favorite play from the Lions’ win over the Jaguars?
Some plays that come to mind are Amon-Ra’s first touchdown to mark his eighth-straight game with a TD, Jamo’s 64-yard TD and Beast Mode celly, Goff’s absolute dart to St. Brown in the corner of the end zone for his second TD reception, Brian Branch sending Evan Engram into the shadow realm, Jahmyr Gibbs’ 54-yard catch, or Kerby Joseph’s seventh interception of the year.
My answer: I’m a sucker for big hits, so I’m going with Branch’s massive hit on Engram. And perhaps the craziest part about the hit was that it ended up leading to a punt. Branch’s closing speed allowed him to stop the catch for only a 9-yard gain on first down, which then led to a Kerby Joseph tackle for no gain on second-and-1, and an Anzalone/Paschal combined tackle for a loss on third-and-1. If this had been a close game, that’s a massive play.
Second place for me is Goff’s second TD throw to St. Brown. It doesn’t look that special on the surface, but he needed to throw a perfect pass to complete it, and that’s exactly what he did. That’s not a pass that you can trust a lot of QBs to make consistently, but Goff was as accurate as you can be on Sunday, which is even more so impressive coming off of a five interception game.
