Your open thread for Monday Night Football

Week 11 culminates on Monday Night Football as the Dallas Cowboys will host the Houston Texans.

Dallas is reeling after losing quarterback Dak Prescott for the year and then suffering a 34-6 beatdown at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles last week. The Texans, meanwhile, are sitting at 6-4 on the season and in the lead of the AFC South. They’ve managed to stay afloat as they deal with their own injury situation after losing Stefon Diggs for the year and Nico Collins to a hamstring injury back in Week 5.

Things are starting to look up for the Texans as they get Collins back from injury, and are 7.5-point favorites per FanDuel sports book.

Chris’ Pick

I have to pick the Texans here. Not only is it hard for me to pick the Cowboys to win for partisan reasons, but they have been absolutely savaged by injuries this year.

  • QB Dak Prescott is done for the year.
  • CB DeRon Bland is still out with the Lisfranc injury he suffered in the preseason.
  • CB Jourdan Lewis is out with a neck injury.
  • EDGE DeMarcus Lawrence has yet to be activated from the injured reserve.
  • OG Zack Martin is questionable with a shoulder injury.
  • WR CeeDee Lamb is questionable with a back injury.

On the flip side, while the Texans will be without EDGE Will Anderson, they’re getting WR Nico Collins back from injury, which will be a welcome sight or C.J. Stroud. The Texans likely won’t need Anderson to shut down Cooper Rush, and the Cowboys’ defense has little hope of stopping Stroud with Collins active.

Dallas has had a tendency to collapse late in the year, but this year they’re getting straight to the point. This game probably won’t even be as close as the 7.5-point spread, and we might get to see Trey Lance before the night is over.
