Just brutal.
The hits just keep coming for the Cincinnati Bengals.
During their 34-27 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, second-year cornerback DJ Turner was looking like a bright spot in a defensive backfield that has struggled all season.
That is until Turner went up, made another great play on a deep ball intended for Quentin Johnston, and landed hard to on the turf. Turner remained down through a commercial break and immediately went to the locker room.
Monday, reports came out that he likely suffered a fractured clavicle, per Ian Rapoport.
#Bengals CB DJ Turner II, who has emerged as a starter this season and was coming into his own, is feared to have suffered a fractured clavicle, sources say.
He’s getting a second opinion, but Turner is likely out for the season. pic.twitter.com/750sc387C6

Turner will get a second opinion, but it certainly feels like his 2024 season is over.
Turner’s injury is similar to that of Dax Hill earlier in the season. Both Michigan alums started to play well before unfortunate injuries cut their seasons short.
Rookie fifth-rounder Josh Newton should be in line for more snaps following an impressive performance Sunday night, and for better or worse, Cam Taylor-Britt is going to have to play his way out of a bad season.
Here’s to a speedy recovery and seeing Turner back on the field sooner rather than later.
