Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 11/18/24

Matthew Stafford broke a passing touchdown record in the Los Angeles Rams victory over the New England Patriots this past Sunday. It’s a great record for the quarterback to earn, and he must’ve been happier earing it while also getting a win for his team. Say what you want about Stafford, say his play is down, say he misses some throw, but he still has the ability to absolutely sling it around. He did exactly that on Sunday.

Happy victory Monday Rams’ fans! Please comment on whatever you’d like and have a great day!

“Matthew Stafford hasn’t solidified himself as a Hall of Famer just yet, but he’s strengthening his case with each game he plays. On Sunday against the New England Patriots, he added to his remarkable resume by moving up the NFL’s all-time passing touchdowns list.

With his first score of the game, a 5-yard touchdown to Cooper Kupp, Stafford moved past Eli Manning for 10th in NFL history with 367 career touchdown passes. That leaves just nine players with more touchdown passes than Stafford, with Matt Ryan being his next target at No. 9 (381 TDs).”

Rams make change at offensive line in win over Patriots (ocregister)

“FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Rams made yet another change to their ever-evolving offensive line ahead of Sunday’s 28-22 win over the New England Patriots, starting rookie Beaux Limmer over free-agent acquisition Jonah Jackson.

Jackson started at center in Week 1 before moving over to left guard following an injury to Steve Avila. Limmer started the next seven games while Jackson went on injured reserve after Week 2 with a shoulder injury.

Jackson returned from IR last week and resumed his duties at center. But the Rams struggled to get the offense going after the change up front, with a stagnant run game and pressure impacting quarterback Matthew Stafford’s ability to move the ball through the air.

So, on Sunday, the Rams went back to Limmer, who had not allowed a sack through 288 pass-blocking snaps entering New England.”

NFL Week 11 grades: Steelers earn high mark for wild win over Ravens, Lions get ‘A+’ for thrashing Jaguars (cbssports)

“When Matthew Stafford is on fire, the Rams are tough to beat and Stafford was on fire against New England. The veteran QB threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns with most of that production going to his two favorite targets: Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Nacua dominated the first half with 117 of his 123 yards coming in the first two quarters. Kupp then took over in the second half with 96 of his 106 yards coming in the final two quarters, including a 69-yard TD that helped break the game open in the third quarter. The Rams defense disappeared for most of the second half, but Kamren Kinchens did end up saving the day by picking off Drake Maye on New England’s final possession. This was a game the Rams couldn’t afford to lose and Stafford made sure that didn’t happen.”
