What is on in your area today

The New York Giants are on their bye week, which means Giants fans are taking a week off from suffering through a disappointing season. There is, though, a full slate of games on Sunday. Here are the matchups, game times, TV channels and what is being televised where you live.

Use this as an open thread to discuss the afternoon action.

1 p.m.

Green Bay Packers (6-3) at Chicago Bears (4-5)
TV: FOX — Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, Erin Andrews (field reporter), Tom Rinaldi (field reporter)

The Bears had the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and selected quarterback Caleb Williams. The rookie QB’s struggles are a reminder that there are no guarantees in the draft, no matter where you are selecting.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8) at Detroit Lions (8-1)
TV: CBS — Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, Melanie Collins (field reporter)

A win by Jacksonville, which has the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, would help the Giants. It isn’t happening.

Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) at Miami Dolphins (3-6)
TV: CBS — Tom McCarthy, Jay Feely, Ross Tucker, Tiffany Blackmon (field reporter)

The Raiders might not be tanking for Shedeur Sanders, but Sanders to Las Vegas sure seems like a fit.

Los Angeles Rams (4-5) at New England Patriots (3-7)
TV: FOX — Adam Amin, Mark Sanchez, Kristina Pink (field reporter)

If you have to watch this game at least you get to see the quarterback the Giants tried to talk the Patriots out of last spring.

Cleveland Browns (2-7) at New Orleans Saints (3-7)
TV: FOX — Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma, Megan Olivi (field reporter)

The Giants play the Saints in Week 14. You can do some early scouting.

Indianapolis Colts (4-6) at New York Jets (3-7)
TV: CBS — Andrew Catalon, Tiki Barber, Jason McCourty, AJ Ross (field reporter)

As bad as things seem for Giants fans right now, it has to be worse for a Jets fan. They had Super Bowl dreams for this season.

Baltimore Ravens (7-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2)
TV: CBS — Ian Eagle, Charles Davis, Evan Washburn (field reporter)

If Russ keeps cookin’, could the Giants talk the Steelers out of Justin Fields this offseason?

Minnesota Vikings (7-2) at Tennessee Titans (2-7)
TV: CBS — Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta, Aditi Kinkhabwala (field reporter)

There are times when I have wondered if the Giants should have taken Will Levis in the 2023 draft. Then, I watch him play quarterback.

4:05 p.m.

Atlanta Falcons (6-4) at Denver Broncos (5-5)
TV: FOX — Kevin Kugler, Daryl Johnston, Laura Okmin (field reporter)

You get to watch Bo Nix and wonder why the Giants didn’t draft him. Or Michael Penix.

Seattle Seahawks (4-5) at San Francisco 49ers (5-4)
TV: FOX — Joe Davis, Greg Olsen, Pam Oliver (field reporter)

The 49ers should be better than 5-4. Shouldn’t they?

4:25 p.m.

Kansas City Chiefs (9-0) at Buffalo Bills (8-2)
TV: CBS — Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, Tracy Wolfson (field reporter)

Somebody has to beat the Chiefs eventually. Right?

8:20 p.m.

Cincinnati Bengals (4-6) at Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)
TV: NBC — Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth, Melissa Stark (field reporter)

We will have a separate thread Sunday evening for this game. Come on back for that!
