My overall record is 71-79-2, which is well behind the collective BGN community at 83-67-2. I’ve been riding the struggle bus.
Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds.
NFL WEEK 11 PICKS AGAINST THE SPREAD
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at DETROIT LIONS (-13.5): Seven of the Jags’ games this season have been decided by one score. And they’re 1-6 straight up in those. The Jags have been unlucky and they’re due for some good fortune here. PICK: Jaguars +13.5
GREEN BAY PACKERS (-5.5) at CHICAGO BEARS: The Bears have lost four straight games. They’re bad. The Packers are well-rested coming off their bye. PICK: Packers -5.5
LOS ANGELES RAMS (-3.5) at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: Interesting. Doesn’t seem like a great situation for the Rams since they’re a West Coast team making a 1:00 PM start across the country … while coming off short rest from playing on Monday. The Pats don’t quite have the horses to be great but they have been feisty. PICK: Patriots +3.5
CLEVELAND BROWNS (-1.5) at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Saints’ win last week was a classic case of the immediate interim head coach bump. They’ll fall back to Earth here. Plus, I think Jameis Winston’s teammates like him and want him to get a win against his former squad. And Cleveland is coming off their bye. PICK: Browns -1.5
MINNESOTA VIKINGS (-5.5) at TENNESSEE TITANS: Sam Darnold is turning back into a pumpkin and he’s going up against a solid defense. But Will Levis has been pretty brutal. Brian Flores can probably force him into some turnovers. PICK: Vikings -5.5
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at NEW YORK JETS (-3.5): The Jets are so bad, man. Putting any trust in them feels foolish. Maybe Anthony Richardson’s benching will help him play better? PICK: Colts +3.5
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at MIAMI DOLPHINS (-7): The Dolphins have been much more competent since Tua Tagovailoa’s return. The Raiders have been more bad than good. PICK: Dolphins -7
BALTIMORE RAVENS (-3) at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: You’d have to be insane to bet against Mike Tomlin as a home underdog. He’s 19-6-3 against the spread in those situations since he was hired in 2007. No team has a better cover percentage in that span. PICK: Steelers +3
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-6.5): The Seahawks are an unserious team that can’t hang with the big boys. The Niners may have found their footing after winning their last two. PICK: 49ers -6.5
ATLANTA FALCONS at DENVER BRONCOS (-1.5): The Broncos rank better than the Falcons in DVOA and point differential. Denver should be favored by more. This is a steal. PICK: Broncos -1.5
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at BUFFALO BILLS (-2.5): I’m not believing the Chiefs lose until I see it happen. I’ll take Patrick Mahomes getting points all day. PICK: Chiefs +2.5
CINCINNATI BENGALS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (-1.5): The Bengals are more rested coming off their mini-bye. They’re a better team than their record indicates and that much has to eventually translate into more wins. Getting Tee Higgins back should help. PICK: Bengals +1.5
HOUSTON TEXANS (-7.5) at DALLAS COWBOYS: The Cowboys are ass. PICK: Texans -7.5
