Thursday Night Football, Week 10 – Eagles vs. Commanders: How to watch, game time, TV channel, streaming
Set Number: X164448 TK1

Your Thursday Night open thread

We have a battle for first place in the NFC East to start Week 11, as the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football.

The 7-2 Eagles got off to a slow start to the season as they settled in under new OC Kellen Moore and DC Vic Fangio. The adjustment period was complicated by injuries to LT Jordan Mailata, and WRs AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. Now healthy and acclimated, the Eagles have won five straight.

Washington, meanwhile, got off to one of the hottest starts in the NFL behind rookie QB Jayden Daniels. The Commanders were expected to be a weak team this year with a rookie quarterback and completely new regime. Instead, they’ve been formidable and an example of just how quickly things can change in the NFL. They hit a couple bumps in the road — namely the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers — but have otherwise managed to find ways to win and are 7-3 on the season.

FanDuel sports book predicts a close game, giving just a 3.5-point advantage to the Eagles at home.

Chris’ pick: I’m going with the Eagles to extend their winning streak and take control of the NFC East. Philly is getting healthier and seem to be finding their groove as the season goes on. In particular, it’s taken a while for their young defense to find its footing under Vic Fangio, but they finally seem to be on the same page.

Washington’s defense could get picked apart by a healthy Philadelphia offense. Jayden Daniels has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this year, but things could get dicy if the flow of the game puts him at the mercy of Fangio and Jalen Carter.

Washington might be the surprise of the season and I expect them to play the Eagles tough, but I think they come up short in the end.
