Another loss with the veteran quarterback that was supposed to be an improvement over the young guy
MVP of the Game: Jonathan Taylor / Kenny Moore
Even though his yards per carry number are a bit inflated because of 58 and 22 yard runs, JT finished the game with over 120 total yards on 23 touches. Overall another solid day at the the office for the running back, and the first game he plays well with Joe Flacco at quarterback. Kenny got himself another takeaway, and even better, he said what every fan is thinking about this franchise after the game: Year after year there is no direction.
Dud of the Game: Joe Flacco
Oh what a joy it is to be right. Even before AR’s benching when some TV personalities like Pat McAfee and Jeff Saturday (there is a reason they are on TV and not in the NFL Irsay!!!) were calling for Flacco to start, I was skeptical. It was not like Flacco was tearing things up when starting, and while I’ll agree that I was disappointed by Richardson’s play, Flacco was simply not that much better to justify the turmoil of benching your supposed quarterback of the future. Now talking just about last game, Flacco had four turnovers, including a terrible pick-six in the first drive of the game, and while he is more accurate than AR, he cannot escape sacks, does not provide any threat with his legs, and seems to be making the same boneheaded mistakes that Richardson does.
Best play of the game: Vacant
The Colts were winning this game, believe it or not, at one point, yet I don’t think a single Colts’ fans thought that we were actually going to win it. Taylor’s 58-yard run was really cool though, and it is always fun watching Nelson completely obliterate an opposing cornerback in space.
Worst play of the game: Flacco’s pick-six on the Colts’ first drive
Joe Flacco with the pick six to set himself up for a 45-attempt garbage-time masterpiece.

Now just imagine if the roles were reversed and it was Richardson throwing that pick-six, I guess everyone would be saying he is not ready, and that he should be benched right away. I mean if Richardson was benched solely because of performance, then after having to sit through throws like this one, there is no reason AR should not be back in the starting lineup next game.
Unsung Hero: Tyler Goodson
Goodson finally caught the touchdown pass! Getting himself a two-yard touchdown grab. If he would only become more consistent then he could easily carve himself a role as the pass-catching specialist in this offense.
Rookie of the Week: AD Mitchell
Mitchell had his best game as a pro, catching 6 passes for 71 yards. The injury to MPJ opened up the door for more targets, and at this point I think it makes sense to give Pittman the chance to heal his back properly and use the snaps to develop the young wide receiver.
