Jared Verse (see the quotes below) wants to win against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia this season for all the usual reasons, but also because he has some former college teammates on the 49ers, and he wants to beat them across the ocean when L.A. and SF face off later this year down under. Crikey.
Verse is a lot of fun, he talks trash, but he can take it to. I appreciate that. It should be interesting to see what Verse has in store for his third season. There’s a lot to like about the young man, but he still has a lot to learn as he continues to grow in the NFL.
One thing he certainly doesn’t need to improve is his confidence.
Another weekend has come and gone. It’s Monday. Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great day! We march to Friday.
Rams’ Jared Verse Stirs Pot as Roger Goodell Weighs In on 49ers Game (heavy.com)
“I respect the team that they have, I respect the O-linemen, I respect the scheme that they run, the people that they have on their roster,” Verse told Jim Rome on “The Jim Rome Show” on April 10. “But I hate San Francisco at the same time because of this: Two of my teammates from Florida State–Tatum Bethune and Renardo Green–both play defense for them.
“We take things really serious. So, whenever we play them, it’s like the biggest beef. We don’t say, ‘Hi’ to each other pre-game. We’re talking trash to each other. There’s no dap-ups, there’s no high-fives, there’s nothing like that. They walk by me, I walk by them. So, now we gotta go all the way to Australia to do this, it’s gonna be even a higher level. Because now, when we beat them, I can say, ‘I’m beating your A outside the country, too. It don’t even gotta just be in LA, in San Francisco; I can beat you anywhere we go.”

Draft expert hints Rams fans should brace for huge disappointment (ramblinfan)
“Despite a wide range of opinions, USC’s Makai Lemon has emerged as the closest thing to a consensus choice for Los Angeles. Even general manager Les Snead couldn’t help but concede his appeal as a prospect.
Miller’s final pre-draft big board, however, casts uncertainty as to whether Lemon will be available. Top-ranked at his position, the latter clocks in at No. 8 overall, ahead of Carnell Tate (ninth), Omar Cooper (15th), and Jordyn Tyson (16th).
If Miller’s surprising final verdict proves clairvoyant, the Rams should brace for a dose of disappointment on draft day. Lemon may not be the pick, after all. “
