Tuesday was a huge day for the future of the Las Vegas Raiders.
It was so important, Tom Brady was in the house. The team released a photo of Brady, a part owner of the team, arriving at their Henderson, Nevada facility Tuesday.
The Raiders began the offseason workout program Tuesday under new coach Klint Kubiak an the team hosted expected No. 1 overall draft pick Fernando Mendoza on a pre-draft visit Tuesday as well.
It’s significant that Brady was there, especially when it comes to Mendoza.
Clearly, the plan was to have Brady spend some time with the young quarterback and that opportunity presented itself Tuesday. Both Raiders’ general manager John Spytek and Kubiak have said Brady will be a big value for Mendoza and that process was evident Tuesday.
Brady was with the team’s brass when Mendoza led Indiana to the national championship in Miami in January. He wasn’t there when the team was at Mendoza’s pro day last week.
Raiders’ owner Mark Davis has said Brady and Spytek are running the team, but there has been other indications that Brady’s role may be more of a consultant because he’s not in Las Vegas much. But Tuesday he was and it’s notable.
