NY Giants news: Ex-Baltimore Ravens guard Daniel Faalele signs with New York

The New York Giants, still in the market for a starting right guard, have signed former Baltimore Ravens guard Daniel Faalele to a one-year, contract, per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

The 6’8”, 370-pound Faalele was a fourth-round pick by the Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft. Faalele has started every game at right guard for the Ravens the past two seasons, making him the odds-on favorite to fill that role for the Giants in 2026.

Based on his size and the fact that Faalele was often the target of Ravens fans frustrated with the team’s offensive line play, Faalele likely gives Giants fans Evan Neal vibes. The 6’7”, 340-pound Neal was the No. 7 overall pick in that 2022 draft.

Faalele has played more than 1,000 snaps for the Ravens in each of the past two seasons. In 2024, he had a 61.8 overall Pro Football Focus. In 2025. that grade was 56.8. Greg Van Roten, a free agent who started the past two seasons for the Giants, had slightly better grades of 63.4 and 65.3 the past two seasons. Van Roten, though, is 36, while Faalele is still just 26.

The massive Faalele also fits the physical profile head coach John Harbaugh is known to like.

The Giants have re-signed veteran backup Aaron Stinnie, recently added guard-center Lucas Patrick, and are giving Neal and Joshua Ezeudu opportunities to rescue their stall careers.

It seems unlikely with Faalele on a one-year deal and starting left guard Jon Runyan Jr. in the final year of his three-year contract that the Faalele signing, which has always been a predictable outcome for the Giants as they looked for a starting guard, would preclude them from selecting a guard early in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Do you like this move, Giants fans?
