The New York Giants are commonly believed to need a wide receiver to help build around Jaxson Dart and unlock their offense in 2026.
They might not take a receiver in the first round, banking on the depth at the position to provide options in the second round. However, we don’t have a good handle right now on what kind of receiver they may be looking for. They don’t have a true “X” receiver on the outside, but do they want one? It’s possible the Giants could be looking for smaller receivers who can win with the ball in their hands.
If so, they could be taking a long look at Texas A&M wideout KC Concepcion. Concepcion is a bit undersized, however he’s also one of the most dangerous players in the draft as a ball carrier. He excels at forcing missed tackles and picking up yards after the catch, as well as racking up yards on screen plays.
At the very least, we know the Giants had Concepcion in on a “30” visit, so it’s worth getting to know him.

KC Concepcion is a quick and agile slot receiver with the tools to be a potent weapon in catch-and-run situations.
Concepcion has unremarkable size at 5-foot-11, 196 pounds, but does have remarkable quickness and agility in and out of his breaks. Concepcion is capable of remarkably quick cuts, both making it very difficult for defenders to stay with his routes as well as making him an excellent run-after-catch weapon. Concepcion is a terror in the short to intermediate area of the field, using his agility and understanding of both route concepts and coverage schemes to consistently get open against both man and zone coverage.
He understands how to make use of schemed traffic to create separation for himself, as well as how to find voids in zone coverages. He also has good awareness to find open field and make himself available in scramble drills. Concepcion is particularly dangerous on sharp in-breaking routes and crossers, using his agility to make razor-sharp cuts and turn separation into yards after the catch.

Concepcion’s greatest weakness is an important one for wide receivers: Consistently catching the ball.
He flashes the ability to make tough catches in traffic, however consistency is a problem and his 10.3 percent drop rate is definitely concerning. Projection
KC Concepcion projects as a starting slot receiver at the NFL level, with the highest upside in an offense that makes heavy use of pre-snap movement and setting up run-after-catch opportunities.
That said, Concepcion will need to continue to improve his catch consistency at the NFL level. Shrinking margins for error in the Pro game will put that much more pressure on him to consistently catch the ball. Concepcion has great upside, but he’d do well to land with a precise quarterback who can make his transition to the pros as smooth as possible.
Concepcion played as both a perimeter and slot receiver in college, but teams could well look at him as a “slot only” option due to his size, length, and lack of long speed. He would fit best in a Shanahan-adjacent offense that already has at least one perimeter receiver who can stretch the field and force double teams. Concepcion will also appeal to teams as a special teams option, and will likely see plenty of time as a punt returner.
He has the potential to be a real weapon for an offense that’s able to get the ball to him in stride and give him room to work about 10-yards downfield.
Does he fit the Giants? Possibly, depending on scheme.
