The New York Giants and veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris are checking each other out on Tuesday, with the 34-year-old 12-year veteran reportedly visiting East Rutherford, N.J.
More than two weeks into free agency, the Giants are finally beginning to make moves to reconstruct their defensive line. on Monday, the Giants made a depth move with the addition of defensive tackle Sam Roberts. Now, the visit from Harris.
A seventh-round pick by the Oakland Raiders in 2014, Harris has played for Oakland, the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, and Cleveland Browns. He has played in 146 regular-season games, with 89 starts. Harris played in 48 games over the past three seasons in Cleveland, including all 17 in 2025.
“He’s a fine veteran minimum, be where you need him to be rotational guy,” said Jared Mueller of SB Nation’s Browns website, Dawgs By Nature.
Harris has played more than 500 snaps in four of the past five seasons, so he has been more than a bit player.
Harris has been moving toward a television career, and has been doing some impressive work with ‘Good Morning Football.’
It appears, though, that he isn’t quite ready to simply talk about football.
