Dolphins rank low in post-free agency power rankings

The Miami Dolphins and new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan have been busy tearing their roster down to the screws in the name of getting younger while getting their salary cap in a healthy place moving forward. The team’s most recent purge has seen the exoduses of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and EDGE rusher Bradley Chubb, among many other roster moves.

So where does their roster stand after jettisoning all of that star power?

According to a recent ranking by Pro Football Focus of all rosters in the National Football League post-free agency, the Miami Dolphins, on paper, have one of the worst rosters in the league — ranking 30th, according to the publication.

The Dolphins’ roster teardown hit full stride this offseason, with nearly every highly paid key contributor being shown the door. Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Bradley Chubb highlight the exodus.

Quarterback Malik Willis brings upside on a cost-effective contract that features little in terms of long-term guarantees, providing Miami with potential outs should the union not work out. The Dolphins’ rebuild is in full swing.

While the Dolphins are clearly rebuilding, they have the ammunition to get better — while getting younger — quickly. The team holds 11 selections in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft which kicks off in less than one month from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Now… all they have to do is hit on a good number of those picks. Sure, it’s easier said than done, but with the Dolphins roster now under the watchful eye of Jon-Eric Sullivan, Miami has hope for a brighter future once again.
