As the Miami Dolphins’ new front office continues to tear down the roster left to them by Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel, the next name being bandied about as a very serious potential trade-away candidate is linebacker Jordyn Brooks. The specific rumors center on the Dallas Cowboys’ reported desire to trade for one of the NFL’s better linebackers. Even more specific is the rumor that the Cowboys have narrowed their list of desired trade candidates down to Azeez Al-Shaair and Jordyn Brooks.
Jordyn Brooks was clearly one of the best linebackers in the NFL last season, which by default would make him one of the better players currently on the Miami Dolphins roster. So now the new front office has a decision to make. Is Brooks a part of the core that they believe they must hold onto to build the team around, barring an offer for his services that they can’t refuse, or is he expendable at 28 years old (will be 29 by the end of this coming season), knowing that he will be over 30 years old by the time the Dolphins can legitmatly compete again?

Should the Miami Dolphins even be considering trading Jordyn Brooks at this point, given that he’s clearly one of the better players currently on the defensive roster for the team?
