When Joe Burrow’s career is over—hopefully all of it spent in Cincinnati with several rings—one group of people he’ll need to thank as he receives his gold jacket are his wide receivers. Burrow has been with at least one elite wide receiver for his entire career, but for most of it, he’s had two.
Ja’Marr Chase is the best wide receiver in the NFL, and he acts as Burrow’s WR1. Tee Higgins would be WR1 on any other team. He just happens to play on the same team as Chase.
What if he could have played with another top-notch wide receiver, though?
Fanatics Flag Football released a “pass the phone” video with several current NFL stars. One of those stars, Davante Adams, said he was “passing the phone to somebody who I wish I had the chase to play with,” passing it on to Burrow.
Adams is a six-time Pro Bowler and a three-time First-Team All-Pro. He’s built a Hall of Fame-worthy career since he was drafted in 2014, and he led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in three seasons, including 2025 for the Rams.
The Bengals have a lot of work to do in free agency still, and the vast majority of that work needs to be done on the defensive side of the ball. Adams signed a two-year, $44 million contract with the Rams before the 2025 season, so he’s not available, but it’s a fun idea to think about.
Can you imagine an offense with Burrow, Chase, Higgins AND Adams?
