Daniel Jeremiah was recently on The Rich Eisen Show and the NFL talking head said that there was a world in which the Los Angeles Rams could trade up to grab top running back prospect Jeremyiyah Love out of Notre Dame.
To be clear, Jeremiah did not say this WOULD happen, but that it COULD happen as the Rams may want to trade up for Love to bolster their running back room with perhaps as good a RB the team has had since Todd Gurley:
“There’s a couple different places you could look at (teams who may trade up for Love). To me, the most fun example is if we are the…if you are the Rams, I mean everything screams ‘all-in’, right? I mean what they’re doing screams they’re going for this thing right now…what if there’s a world in which you can move up in this draft to go take Jeremiyah Love to put in your backfield? As your finishing piece to give you somebody that’s as talented as Todd Gurley.”
Gurley has been the most explosive and complete running back the Rams have had under Sean McVay, but Jeremiah didn’t just stop at the Rams adding Love as he went further into the possibility of the Rams having Love to go with Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and even A.J. Brown. Jeremiah pondered that the Rams could possibly trade their 2027 picks in June (post upcoming draft) to the Philadelphia Eagles to try and land Brown for 2026 and beyond.
If the Rams somehow added Love and Brown to what they already have, that may be the most “all-in” the Rams have ever been.
I don’t get the sense that anyone is saying that any of these scenarios are likely to happen, but they are a possibility, and to Jeremiah’s point, Matthew Stafford having perhaps the best group of skill position players he’s ever had with Adams, Brown, Love, Nacua and the rest, would be a “fun” scenario for the Rams.
If you watch the full clip, you’ll hear that Jeremiah thinks it’s more likely that Love goes to a team like the Tennessee Titans, but in the modern NFL, no move seems impossible, and the Rams adding Love isn’t impossible, but until it happens, it’s just rumors and speculation.
With about a month remaining until the upcoming NFL Draft, there may not be a better time for NFL rumors and speculation, so dream on, Rams’ fans, dream on.
