The Eagles are still making roster moves a week after the start of free agency, and are now adding another tight end to the roster, signing former Jets TE Stone Smartt to a one-year deal.
Smartt is heading into his fifth year in the league, after spending his first three seasons with the Chargers and then 2025 with the Jets. He has 53 games of experience, was named a starter for seven, and has 38 catches for 432 yards and one touchdown. Smartt has mostly been a special teams contributor throughout his career, playing over 30 percent of snaps in that phase of the game in each of his last three seasons.
The TE is only 27 years old, and could be an interesting addition to a room in Philadelphia that includes Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and Johnny Mundt.
How do you feel about the TE room now? Are you concerned about depth? Let us know in the comments!
