Earlier this week, we brought you another SB Nation Reacts survey with a couple of questions about free agency. We’ve got the results of that survey here for you today, so let’s get to those results and find out what everyone is thinking, shall we?
The first of our questions for you this week centered around the NFC North since, when we had to have our questions in, our Minnesota Vikings really hadn’t done a whole lot in the way of free agent activity. So, we asked you folks which of our NFC North rivals had the best free agency period up to that point, and you folks picked a pretty clear winner.
Of those who responded to our survey, nearly 60% of you said the team that had fared best in free agency so far in 2026 was the team that won the division in 2025, the Chicago Bears. Another 22% went with the Detroit Lions, while the Green Bay Packers brought up the rear with 19% of the vote. But it was a pretty clear victory for the Bears in our polling for this week.
It does seem like the Packers and the Lions have lost a lot more than they’ve gained in free agency so far, now that the first big wave of things is over. The Bears have shored up some spots on the roster that needed to be bolstered and should, barring anything weird, be the favorites to repeat this coming season. Sure, the other three teams will have something to say about that, but that’s where the smart money is probably going right now.
Our other question this week did center around our favorite team, specifically the two notable losses that they suffered in the first week of free agency. The team saw both wide receiver Jalen Nailor and punter Ryan Wright depart for Las Vegas and New Orleans, respectively. We asked you which one you thought would be the bigger loss, and while you might have predicted who would be the top pick for this one, the margin is probably a lot colser than most folks would have expected.
By a margin of just 53% to 47%, our readers deemed Nailor to be the more significant loss of the two players mentioned. Nailor has been a solid option as the third receiver for the Vikings over the past couple of seasons, but Wright’s contributions on special teams, not just as the punter but also as the holder on field goals and extra points, are something that can’t be overlooked. The Vikings have not signed a replacement for Wright yet, and whoever they do decide to bring in to replace him will have to be able to fill both of those roles as well as he did if the Vikings don’t want to have any sort of drop off in the kicking game.
Those are the results of our SB Nation Reacts survey for this week, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll have more of these in the future and, as always, thank you to those of you who took the time to participate in our survey for this week.
