Let’s give Braden Mann some love
Might not be the spiciest signing/resigning of free agency, but in 2022 there is a legitimate argument to be made that we are a punter from winning on that Super Bowl.
It can be easy to take these types of signings for granted, but Mann was the MAN last year.

NFL’s 9 best available free agents, and the team they should sign with – SB Nation
A.J. Epenesa, DE. Joey Bosa might not be the only defender on their way out of Buffalo, as fellow defensive end A.J. Epenesa could join him on the way out of town. Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is looking for help on the edge, particularly after the team lost Jaelan Phillips to the Carolina Panthers in free agency. The Eagles were linked to a potential move for Trey Hendrickson, and are often listed as a landing spot for Maxx Crosby if the Las Vegas Raiders were to try and trade him again after their deal with the Baltimore Ravens fell through, but signing Epenesa is the kind of move that just screams Roseman.
Eagles Film Review: Johnny Mundt, “the best third tight end in the NFL” – BGN
Where else could we start! This is where Mundt earns his playing time. His blocking technique is outstanding, and he can play various blocking roles despite not being the biggest. His film is quite interesting because you expect a blocking tight end to be bigger and physical, whereas Mundt wins in different ways. His hand placement is excellent, and he wins leverage battles against defenders who are often significantly more powerful than he is. What separates him further is his ability to sustain. He doesn’t just initiate contact and hope; he finishes blocks because he plays with outstanding effort. In duo and gap schemes, he works seamlessly from initial double-teams to second-level blocks, and his size actually helps him here. He is at his best against linebackers and defensive backs, without a doubt.
Some see an A.J. Brown trade as inevitable – PFT
The first week of free agency has come and gone without the Eagles trading veteran receiver A.J. Brown. There continues to be a league-wide belief that it will eventually happen. Multiple league sources have characterized it to PFT as inevitable. The question is whether the Eagles will do it before or after June 1. Before free agency started, it was believed they’d wait until after June 1, when the 2026 cap consequence would be dramatically smaller. With the Eagles not making a significant move during the free-agency period — and given that edge rusher Jaelan Phillips left for the Panthers on a four-year, $120 million contract — the thinking is that the Eagles could absorb the full dead-cap charge in 2026, if they choose to do so. Regardless, the thinking is that Brown will indeed be gone before Week 1.
In Roob’s Observations: Making the case for the Eagles trading A.J. Brown – NBCSP
I love A.J. Brown the player when he’s at the top of his game and mentally locked in. As far as pure talent, he’s up there with Mike Quick and T.O. as one of the most gifted modern-era WRs we’ve ever seen here. That said, the player we saw last year was not at the top of his game, and there were a lot of reasons for that, but it’s a mistake to blame everything on Kevin Patullo and let A.J. totally off the hook. Patullo didn’t drop all those passes in the 49ers playoff game. Patullo isn’t the one who was distracted throughout the season. Patullo isn’t the one who too often chose to focus on social media instead of the football field. The more I think about it the more I wonder if a trade wouldn’t be best for everybody. A.J. turns 29 this summer and physically is not the player he used to be and he just seems like a guy who wants and needs a fresh start somewhere else. Would it be catastrophic to lose A.J.? It depends who you replace him with, but that’s why Howie is correct keeping the price tag high. If you get a 1st and a 2nd back you can start packaging picks and find your way into the upper reaches of the first round for maybe a Jordyn Tyson or K.C. Concepcion to super-charge your wide receiver room. Now you’ve gotten younger, faster and cheaper at WR, you’ve eliminated the potential headache of an unhappy, distracted veteran in the locker room and you’ve got both DeVonta Smith and the new guy under contract for the foreseeable future. In a perfect world, you’d love to have A.J. Brown back if it’s the all-pro A.J. Brown of 2022 and 2023. But I’m not sure that guy’s coming back, and the last thing this team needs is a guy who isn’t committed to being a Philadelphia Eagle. At first, trading Brown seemed unthinkable. But as we go through the offseason, it’s seeming more and more reasonable.
Grant Calcaterra: ‘I’m excited to learn the new offense’ – PhiladelphiaEagles.com
“I think some change is good. That’s one thing I really admire about Coach (Nick) Sirianni is he’s always adapting and changing. I feel like this will be a good change. I’m excited to learn the new offense.” Calcaterra has been a part of one of the most successful runs in franchise history, with four playoff appearances, three NFC East titles, two NFC Championships, and a Super Bowl. Calcaterra’s best season came during the Super Bowl run, as he started 13 games and contributed 24 receptions for 298 yards and a touchdown, playing 66 percent of the offensive snaps. Calcaterra wants to extend the Eagles’ winning ways in 2026.
Cowboys needs are a bit different after free agency – Blogging The Boys
After these free agent moves the Cowboys biggest remaining roster “needs” are linebacker, cornerback, edge and maybe even defensive tackle. Knowing that, we should have a better understanding of the player/positions they could be targeting in April when the draft gets underway. So with that in mind, that’s exactly what we’re going to attempt to do today. For this exercise we decided to stand pat with each pick and not make any trades.
Commanders’ general manager Adam Peters absolutely knocked the ball out of the park during the first week of free agency, setting Washington up with very few needs heading into the draft this April. Peters’ 2026 free agent acquisitions were in stark contrast to his first two seasons in D.C. where he handed out very few three-/four-year deals and signed a lot of veteran players who were at, or over, 30 years old. Before we get into the meat and potatoes of the signings, I first can’t state enough how critically important it was for Washington to have a transforming offseason. This roster, as it stood heading into the new league year, was one of the oldest and slowest in the entire league. By adding the pieces he did, combining both an infusion of youth and athleticism, Adam has once again restored hope to this fanbase.
NY Giants news: WR Darnell Mooney signing; what it means for New York – Big Blue View
He was released earlier this month and was immediately recognized as a potential option for the Giants. Mooney is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound receiver and had his best season in 2021. That year he started 14 games, catching 81 passes (on 140 targets) for 1,055 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had his second best year in 2024, notching 992 yards and five touchdowns, so he certainly still has the potential to be a productive option. He joins Isaiah Likely and Calvin Austin II as new options for Jaxson Dart in his second year. Mooney’s deal is reportedly for one year.
