The Miami Dolphins are signing WR Jalen Tolbert to a one-year deal in free agency. Tolbert was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and has spent the last four seasons with the team. In that time, he’s totaled 91 catches for 1,093 yards and ten touchdowns.
Tolbert stands at 6’1 and weighs 195 pounds, and can be best characterized as a rare combination of size and speed. As it stands, he is the second tallest receiver in Miami’s receiving room, behind Theo Wease Jr.. However, he struggled with creating separation in Dallas, and also had some issues with drops.
Tolbert is the second receiver to join the Dolphins during this free agency period, as the team signed former Los Angeles Rams receiver Tutu Atwell this past week as well.
Tolbert is also familiar with newly minted Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis, as the pair played together in the 2022 Senior Bowl, prior to the draft that year.
