Eagles Question of the Day:

Which position do you want to see the Eagles address next? Head over to The Feed and weigh in with your answer and explanation!

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …

NFL insider quiets trade rumors surrounding Eagles star – NJ.com

But ESPN’s Adam Schefter poured cold water on the idea that Howie Roseman and Co. might deal Carter. “The Eagles have never shopped him,” Schefter said Wednesday. “Never have shopped him. That doesn’t mean they can’t in the future. But they have not made him available.” Now, could Roseman have fielded calls on Carter without actively shopping him? Sure. But it doesn’t sound like Carter is going anywhere this offseason. If anything, it’s probably more likely that the 2023 first-round pick gets a contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid defensive tackles in the NFL.

Vic Fangio says Jihaad Campbell will “miss probably most of the offseason” with a shoulder injury – BGN

With the Eagles unsurprisingly losing Nakobe Dean in free agency, Campbell is slated to take his place in the starting lineup moving forward. It would be ideal for Campbell, who just turned 22 years old last month, to have a full offseason to help prepare him to be a full-time starter. But apparently that won’t be the case.

Eagles notes: Dallas Goedert’s contract, Jihaad Campbell’s injury, and the Jaire Alexander trade – PhillyVoice

There might be some contention about the Jaire Alexander trade. At the trade deadline last season, the Eagles dealt for Ravens CB Jaire Alexander, who then retired 10 days later. The Eagles didn’t give up much. They traded a 2026 sixth-round pick for Alexander and 2027 seventh-round pick. But they also got absolutely nothing out of him. In December, a reader alerted me to the absence of that trade on the transaction page on the Eagles’ website. Interestingly, it didn’t appear there, but it did appear on the transaction pages on the Ravens’ site and the NFL’s site. The team declined to comment after multiple inquiries about the discrepancy on the transaction pages and whether the trade was valid. I imagine that if there weren’t some kind of contention about the trade, the Eagles would’ve just said that the trade was final. Back in 2017, the Eagles traded LS Jon Dorenbos to the Saints for a seventh-round pick. Ten days later, Dorenbos was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm, which required immediate heart surgery. The Saints released him, and the Eagles returned the draft pick to the Saints. It does feel like the Eagles expect that trade to be rescinded, and in my opinion they have an argument, if so. Of course, we only bring this up now because of the Ravens’ decision to back out of their trade with the Raiders for Maxx Crosby, and the accusations thereafter that they may have been acting in bad faith.

5 thoughts on Eagles’ addition of Riq Woolen in free agency – NBCSP

Not without some risk. The upside with this signing is obvious and Woolen will undoubtedly be an upgrade over Jackson in 2026. But there are reasons a talented 26-year-old physical freak of a cornerback was available on a one-year deal. During the 2025 season, Woolen started just seven games and was not a starter in the playoffs. He rotated with former Eagle Josh Jobe, whom the Seahawks brought back in free agency over Woolen. Woolen is also known for penalties. In fact, according to The Athletic, he has been penalized 30 times since entering the league in 2022. That is the most among all defensive backs in the league during that span. And one of Woolen’s worst moments played out on national television in January during the NFC Championship Game. He nearly cost his team a trip to the Super Bowl. After defending an incomplete pass to Puka Nacua on 3rd-and-12 late in the fourth quarter, Woolen couldn’t control his emotions and taunted Nacua and anyone else he could find on the Rams’ sideline before eventually being flagged. On the very next play, he gave up a 34-yard touchdown pass to Nacua that pulled the Rams within four points. Luckily for Woolen, the Seahawks were able to hold on and advance.

Spadaro: Jordan Davis’ extension is a product of his desire to be great – PE.com

Congratulations to Jordan Davis, an example who is relatable to everyone and a story that is a win for himself, the team, the fans, every person who has a goal and who is willing to work to reach that goal, even if it takes some time to get there. “When I first got here, I was talking with Brandon Graham and I remember he said to me, ‘You come in here and you work hard and you show that you care and work to improve, this city will love you,” Davis said on Wednesday at his press conference from the Jefferson Health Center auditorium. “That is something that stuck with me, that resonated with me. ”I wanted to create a legacy. It takes a village to raise a child, and I’m fortunate enough to have time to develop and grow as a person with the help of my coaches and players that have been a part of that locker room. When I could show that the work that I put in in the dark could be shown in the light, I think that was the difference, that was the change.”

Eagles 7-round mock draft: Does a tight end make sense, post-free agency? – The Athletic

First round, No. 23: Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon. This pick aligns both with Roseman’s draft strategy and the new direction of the Eagles’ offense. If the Eagles were drafting purely based on needs, I’d be writing about Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor here instead. But it would be a market anomaly if Sadiq falls to the Eagles. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler noted that NFL teams believe Sadiq has the talent to be a top-10 pick. Last season, the Eagles similarly scooped up linebacker Jihaad Campbell (a top-10 player on the Eagles’ draft board) when he fell within range. This pick is all the more possible after the Minnesota Vikings (at No. 18) restructured T.J. Hockenson’s contract on Monday. The Eagles still need an all-around tight end for their system change under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. They secured a supporting cast in free agency by reaching one-year deals with Johnny Mundt (the blocking specialist they were missing in 2025) and Grant Calcaterra (who could be a better fit in a pass-catching role). The Eagles were interested in bringing back eight-year veteran Dallas Goedert, who last year set the team record for single-season touchdown catches by a tight end (11). A possible deal is still up in the air. But the Eagles have been working around Goedert’s pricey cap hit for the last two years. It would serve them well to start over with a potential star on a rookie deal.

Falcons free agency 2026: Atlanta signing EDGE Azeez Ojulari – The Falcoholic

The Atlanta Falcons were reportedly interested in Azeez Ojulari at the trade deadline back in 2024, but he did not not join the team in 2025. With a new regime in town, though, the Georgia native and Georgia Bulldog is coming home. This is another buy-low opportunity for Atlanta. Ojulari was coming off a six sack season with the Giants when the Eagles signed him last year to a one year, $4 million pact; unfortunately the young defender appeared in just three games before a hamstring injury cost him the rest of the season. Presumably fully healthy now, Ojulari will take another shot at building up his value by joining a team that badly needed capable edge defenders.

Dolphins sign Josh Uche in 2026 free agency – The Phinsider

In his six-year career, Uche has appeared in 76 games, starting four times. He has 109 career tackles with one pass defensed, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 21.5 sacks. His best season came with the Patriots in 2022 when he tallied 11.5 sacks in 15 games played. Throughout his career, he has also be a contributor on special teams, a role he could find himself filling with Miami in 2026.

Pittsburgh Steelers sign veteran offensive tackle – Behind The Steel Curtain

The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing offensive tackle Jack Driscoll to a one-year deal, the team announced today. Driscoll spent 2025 with the Steelers, but didn’t see any playing time. Driscoll was a fourth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2020 out of Auburn. He’s appeared in 67 games in his career with 18 starts. The Steelers still lack depth along the offensive line even after bringing back Driscoll. As it stands, they have just seven offensive linemen on the roster. They are far from done adding pieces up front.

Panthers signing QB Kenny Pickett to 1-year deal – Cat Scratch Reader

The Panthers are adding to their quarterback room behind starter Bryce Young. Per reports, Carolina is inking former Eagles, Raiders, and Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett to a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million with $4 million in guaranteed money. He has mainly been a backup the past two seasons after two seasons as a starter to begin his career with Pittsburgh.

Packers sign free agent DT Javon Hargrave for 2 years, $23 million – Acme Packing Company

The most obvious free agent signing of the spring has come to pass within an hour of it becoming a possibility. The Green Bay Packers desperately need a nose tackle and they have found one in Javon Hargrave. The Packers reportedly have inked Hargrave to a big new two-year contract, giving him $23 million over the next two seasons according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal will pay him $13 million this year, with 2027 presumably being effectively a team option for the remaining $10 million. Note that Schefter’s information comes from Hargrave’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, which could mean his actual compensation before incentives is a bit lower than that number.

Cleveland Browns add a new tight end to the mix – Dawgs By Nature

Jack Stoll was an undrafted free agent in 2021, and spent the first three years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. After that, he’s tried to find a home with the Giants, Dolphins, and Saints. He is not much of a receiving tight end — last year with the Saints, he started 4 games, but had 6 catches for 46 yards and 1 touchdown. Prior to that, his highest receiving totals was in 2022, when he had 11 catches for 123 yards.

Cowboys trade: Dallas sending DT Osa Odighizuwa to 49ers for third-round pick – Blogging The Boys

Unfortunately sometimes in the NFL you do have to make a move as noted, and clearly the Cowboys feel like this is in their best interest. Odighizuwa marks the first player who the Cowboys have traded away in the 2026 league year and time will tell if anybody joins him in that capacity. [BLG Note: The Cowboys signed Osa to a bargain deal last year … only to trade him for a late third-round pick … from a team that owns them. Seems like not a good move.]

Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey in a ‘waiting pattern’ on new contract – NFL.com

“There’s a lot of moving parts with the Cowboys at the moment,” Aubrey said. “There’s players that aren’t restricted that they’ve got to sort through first, because with that restriction, movement is significantly more difficult. So they go through and there’s more important fires to put out. And then they can circle around when things calm down and talk to me.”

Winners and Losers from the Washington Commanders First Wave of Free Agency – Hogs Haven

Daronte Jones and the Washington Commanders defense were the clear winners in the first wave of free agency, and he is getting the desperately needed influx of talent needed to implement his new system. The defense has been the issue on this team since Adam Peters and Dan Quinn took over, but rookie phenom Jayden Daniels helped mask that during the first year with his historic run. David Blough and the Washington Commanders offense didn’t get the same level of help through free agency, but there will be more players added over the next two months. Losing out on their top wide receiver options wasn’t ideal, and now they are moving on to backup plans. Signing TE Chig Okonkwo was great, but a lot more work needs to be done to build around Jayden Daniels.

NY Giants news: Evan Neal, stunningly, returning to New York; what it means – Big Blue View

The New York Giants are bringing back guard Evan Neal, per multiple reports. That is a stunning move after a year in which the former first-round pick did not play a snap. The contract is reportedly one-year deal for the minimum salary. The seventh overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Neal spent three injury-plagued seasons unsuccessfully trying to prove he could play right tackle in the NFL. The Giants moved him to guard last season, but the 6-foot-7, 340-pound Neal never played a snap.

The Ravens voiding the Maxx Crosby trade needs an NFL investigation – SB Nation

The Baltimore Ravens sent shockwaves through the NFL on Tuesday night with the news that they failed Maxx Crosby’s during his post-trade physical and were voiding their deal with the Raiders. As a result the two first round picks they dealt went back to the Ravens, Crosby returned to Las Vegas, and GMs around the league were accusing Baltimore of dirty pool. It was a move that came under even more scrutiny on Wednesday morning when the Ravens rushed to sign Trey Hendrickson, the best remaining edge rusher on the market. It made the whole situation appear as though the decision to fail Crosby was far more due to the organization getting cold feet, rather than any actual concern about Crosby’s medical history.
