The New York Giants have agreed to terms with CB Art Green, per a report from Jordan Raanan.
Green, 25, is an exclusive rights free agent for the Giants who was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL draft. He was signed to the Giants’ practice squad during the 2024 season and contributed during the 2025 season.
What it means
Green is, ultimately, a depth and special teams player — emphasis on the special teams. He’s appeared in 20 games for the Giants, playing 413 special teams snaps since joining the team in 2024. Green is a very good special teams player, so it makes perfect sense that John Harbaugh would prioritize keeping him on the fold.
He has played some on the defensive side of the ball and is a good-sized and physical corner at 6-foot-1, 201 pounds. That could fit well of Dennard Wilson is looking to transition the Giants to a more aggressive philosophy on defense.
Green has only played 47 snaps on defense, all in 2024, and isn’t likely to push Greg Newsome II and Tae Banks for a starting job. However, he’s a young and useful player to have around. Special teams are important, as is having depth with the traits to step in and maintain the defensive philosophy big necessary.
