After weeks of speculation that he would do so, free agent wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson has decided to leave the New York Giants for the Tennessee Titans.
Robinson’s deal in Tennessee is reportedly for four years and $70 million ($17.5 million per year) with incentives that could bring the deal to $78 million.
Robinson will, of course, join former Giants head coach Brian Daboll in Tennessee. Daboll is now the Titans offensive coordinator, working under new Tennessee head coach Robert Saleh.
Robinson is coming off the first 1,000-yard season of his career. He had 92 receptions for 1,004 yards, his second straight 90+ catch season. He became the first 5-foot-8 or smaller wide receiver to surpass 1,000 receiving yards since Richard Johnson in 1990.
The 25-year-old Robinson was a second-round pick by the Giants in 2022, the first NFL draft for Daboll and GM Joe Schoen with New York.
In four seasons, Robinson caught 268 passes for 2,465 yards (9.2 yards per reception) and nine touchdowns. Over the past two seasons, 75 of Robinson’s 185 receptions (41%) resulted in first downs.
What this means for the Giants
Well, obviously it means they now have a hole at the slot receiver position. Question is, how will they fill it?
There is some speculation that the Giants will rely heavily on tight ends in 2026 with John Harbaugh wanting to build a power running team. The Giants already re-signed blocking tight end Chris Manhertz and then aded former Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely. Likely has significant experience as a slot receiver. That is a place the Giants could also use third-year tight end Theo Johnson.
They will also be in the free-agent market for wide receiver depth, and there are a number of highly-regarded slot receiver options in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
