The Miami Dolphins are signing free agent quarterback Malik Willis, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The contract is expected to be a three-year, $67.5 million contract with $45 million fully guaranteed. The news of the deal comes shortly after the league opened the 2026 free agency negotiating period – colloquially known as the “legal tampering” period – ahead of Wednesday’s new league year.
The 2022 third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans, Willis spent the last two seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He played in 11 games, starting three times, with Green Bay, throwing for 972 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. He also had 42 rushing attempts for 161 yards and three touchdowns.
New Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley and new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan were both previously with Green Bay and are familiar with Willis.
Miami informed 2020 fifth-overall pick, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa they will be releasing him when the new league year starts at 4 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday.
