Giants news, 3/6: Wide receiver, cornerback options in free agency, Sonny Styles

Good morning, New York Giants fans!

From Big Blue View

Other Giant observations

The Giants are going to be a running team in 2026. It is pretty much as simple as that. That is the vision John Harbaugh wants for his offense.

Viral moment of Jaxson Dart making a young fan’s day

2026 NFL free agency: Biggest needs for each NFC team | NFL.com

Positions of need: OL, WR, CB. The offensive line wasn’t horrific in 2025, but with tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and guard Greg Van Roten slated for free agency, the right side of that unit needs aid. To support Jaxson Dart and improve the run game in John Harbaugh’s first season at the helm, Big Blue can’t head into 2026 reverting to the O-line struggles that plagued them for years. With Wan’Dale Robinson heading to free agency, the WR room is shallow behind Malik Nabers (coming off injury) and Darius Slayton.

2026 NFL Draft: Contingency plans for teams that may lose high-profile free agents | PFF

New York Giants and T Jermaine Eluemunor. Eluemunor is an important domino for the Giants, because I believe their entire draft plan hinges upon it. If they re-sign him, they’ll likely use the No. 5 overall pick on the best player available. But if they aren’t able to strike a deal, they might be pigeon-holed into taking an offensive lineman with their top pick.

Francis Mauigoa from Miami feels like the most likely selection for them, as he has played right tackle, where they would have an immediate need. Mauigoa would also allow them to lean more into the power run game after he earned a 75.4 PFF run-blocking grade in man/gap scheme concepts in 2025. But if New York loses Eluemunor and also doesn’t address the position at No. 5, tackle prospects like Blake Miller, Caleb Lomu or Max Iheanachor at the top of Round 2 could be very good options for them.

2026 NFL Free Agency: One Ideal Signing for All 32 Teams | FOX Sports

New York Giants. C Tyler Linderbaum. It’s going to cost them, but it’s a no-brainer, and a move that many in the league expect will happen. The Giants have long needed an offensive line upgrade and new coach John Harbaugh is going to insist on it. So why not bring one of his best players along from Baltimore? The 25-year-old is exactly the anchor they need in the middle. He’s durable and been to three straight Pro Bowls and will be a huge boost to the powerful run game Harbaugh wants to build.

2026 NFL free-agency rankings: Trey Hendrickson, Malik Willis highlight updated top 150 | The Athletic

14. Jermaine Eluemunor. Eluemunor had a career season in 2025, finishing with a 98 percent pass blocking efficiency, tied for sixth among all tackles. He is undersized with short arms, but his core strength is his superpower. He can sink onto his heels and withstand bull rushes in pass protection. Eluemunor is an unorthodox but very effective player.

20. Wan’Dale Robinson. Robinson is a small, fast, twitchy receiver who fits best in the slot. He plays with immediate speed into the defense early in downs, and he can threaten vertically from inside alignments.

Other players who played for the Giants last year on the list included G Greg Van Roten (102), QB Russel Wilson (113) CB Cor’Dale Flott (122), and LB Bobby Okereke (142).

The Perfect 2026 NFL Draft Prospects to Replace Biggest Cap Casualties | Bleacher Report

New York Giants: LB Sonny Styles, Ohio State. Now, the Giants have a lot to replace with a team leader and defensive green dot gone. Ohio State’s Sonny Styles has every trait a linebacker needs to be a top-five pick and create an immediate impact within an NFL defense. The 21-year-old prospect then blew the combine process away with a record-setting 43.5-inch vertical, 11’2” broad jump and 4.46-second 40-yard dash. Some will look at those figures and think the linebacker’s athleticism is driving the top-five conversation, particularly while playing at a devalued position.

The 23 Players Who Will Define the NFL’s Trade Market | The Ringer

Kayvon Thibodeaux, edge, New York Giants. Thibodeaux has been a solid rotational piece, but he never blossomed into the star edge rusher many (myself included) thought he’d become when he was picked in the first round in 2022. Since then, he ranks outside of the top 40 in sacks, quarterback hits, and EPA on sacks. He also hasn’t been impactful enough against the run to balance out the middling pass rush production. But he’s only 25 and is probably worth a call from contenders like the Chargers, Ravens, Bills, and Patriots that need pass rush help.
