L.A. Rams News: Theory, but they aren’t trading for A.J. Brown

I could be way off, but I don’t think the Los Angeles Rams are trading for A.J. Brown, and I don’t think I am alone in feeling this way. Now, I cannot say this is fact because I am not Les Snead, so what do I know? But at this time, the Rams seem more likely to find someone via the draft or even add someone as a free agency, like Mike Evans, as opposed to making a trade for a player like Brown.

I know that as talented Brown is, he was a distraction for the Eagles last year. He expressed unease while the Eagles were winning because he questioned the offense and his role, when Brown had bigger games, it seemed like the team would lose and again Brown would be unhappy with the loss.

There was seemingly no way to please Brown other than feed him the ball and win games, which for whatever reason, the Eagles couldn’t do that last year. It was either feed Brown and lose, or not feature Brown and MAYBE win. That was the type of season the Eagles had last year.

On the outside looking in, it seemed that Brown was unhappy with the Eagles and maybe unfairly so. They traded for him, they paid him they won a Super Bowl, but Brown wants more, and what he wants, may not align with the vision the Rams have for their team in 2026.

The risk of distraction is not worth the gamble, and I think that is the stance the Rams will take.

We’ll see.

Happy Monday, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great day!

Rams Learn Price to Trade For Eagles A.J. Brown (si.com)

“The next piece, then, would be finding a fair trade comp for Brown.”

“One would be the Stefon Diggs trade in 2024. The Bills sent Diggs to the Texans that offseason, packaging him with a sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-rounder in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick. Diggs, having just turned 30, was a little more than a year older than Brown is now. Like Brown, he was coming off four 1,000-yard seasons in four years with his second NFL team. So this lines up in a lot of ways.”

Rams add big WR, polarizing QB in USA TODAY’s new mock draft (ramswire)

“Their roster needs haven’t changed yet, but they could in free agency. For now, wide receiver and quarterback are both among positions they could address, and that’s exactly what direction the Rams go in Nate Davis’ latest mock draft for USA TODAY.

At No. 13 overall, he has the Rams taking Denzel Boston, the 6-4 wide receiver from Washington.“

Post-Combine Los Angeles Rams Mock Draft: Combine Standouts Shine (si.com)

“A cornerback and offensive tackle (or wide receiver) in the first round feels like the smart direction to go, or vice versa. Lomu is my personal No. 1-rated offensive tackle in this year’s draft class, which would make this an awesome choice for the Rams. Lomu is already a sound technician and athlete who showcased grand improvements as a run blocker this past season, and he has the tools to transition to right tackle as a potential future stalwart for years to come.“
