Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
A.J. Brown trade rumors: Patriots’ Mike Vrabel adds fuel to the fire – Pats Pulpit
The New England Patriots are looking for upgrades on the offensive side of the ball this offseason, and one name has repeatedly been mentioned as a potential target for the team: wide receiver A.J. Brown. While the three-time All-Pro selection remains under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, he very well could become available for trade this offseason. There has been no direct admission from anybody involved two weeks before the opening of the NFL trading window, but Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni did say earlier this week at the Scouting Combine that he “can’t guarantee” Brown being back with Philadelphia in 2026. That might just have been a generalization, but in light of the rumors swirling around it is a statement that cannot be brushed off right away either. That in itself will continue to fuel the speculation of Brown possibly reuniting with his former head coach, Mike Vrabel, in New England. And on Wednesday, Vrabel did not exactly put out that fire either. Asked directly about Brown during a press conference at the Combine as well as a subsequent sit-down with local media, he spoke highly about the 28-year-old.

Mike Vrabel gushes over A.J. Brown at the NFL Combine – SB Nation
On Tuesday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni met with the media at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and offered his latest update on how things stand with star wide receiver A.J. Brown. To hear Sirianni tell the story, he can not make any guarantees that Brown will be on the roster this season. If you are trying to read the tea leaves here, you got another piece to the puzzle on Wednesday. Because that is when New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel took to the podium, and he was asked about his relationship with Brown. Vrabel was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans when the organization drafted the wide receiver him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The current Patriots coach did not hold back when discussing his relationship with the receiver.
A.J. Brown trade destinations: 9 teams who could make a deal with the Eagles – BGN
New England Patriots: If the Patriots are interested in Brown, the reasons are obvious: they need to get Drake Maye as much help as they can while on his rookie contract, and Brown and Mike Vrabel have a good history together. Much like the Bills, the Patriots are a decent bet to have a good pick in 2027, so the Eagles should be highly interested (getting him out of the conference with either team would be a nice bonus too). The Patriots played a really soft schedule in the regular season, which isn’t their fault, and 14 wins is hard to repeat. They also fluked their way to a Super Bowl run, CJ Stroud couldn’t stop turning over the ball (nor could Drake Maye), and the Broncos didn’t have a QB. Drake Maye is a legit QB, but the 2025 Patriots were fraudulent. Their 2027 pick could be very nice to have.
2026 NFL offseason: Ranking the top 15 trade candidates – ESPN
5) A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles. The contract: Four more years at $28.25 million per year, with $29 million fully guaranteed for 2026 The buzz: Brown made no secret of his frustrations with the Eagles’ offense in 2025. Heck, he made no secret of them in 2024, when the team ended up winning the Super Bowl. Philadelphia has learned to live with Brown’s grousing because of his production. So, the questions are whether he’s unhappy enough there to force the issue and whether the Eagles want to move on from the situation. — Graziano. The tape: Brown’s individual play seemed to fall off a touch last season, but it’s fair to believe his frustration with the offense led to some disinterested play. An acquiring team is risking that Brown is beyond his athletic prime (he will turn 29 this summer), but he has only one year of guaranteed money on his deal, so it would not be too big of a commitment. And the recent ceiling of Brown’s play has been top-five receiver level. He had 1,003 yards last season, and he has tallied at least seven touchdowns in each of the past four campaigns. — Solak. Predicted chance of getting traded: 60%. Potential team fits: Patriots, Bills, Ravens.
Saquon Barkley, Brandon Graham, tush push improvements: 8 Eagles combine takeaways- The Athletic
The Eagles avoided questions about Brown’s future, dominating the combine news conferences when Roseman and Sirianni addressed the topic ahead of the combine. Roseman echoed the team’s stance Tuesday when he was asked about teams reaching out to the Eagles about Brown’s availability. “There’s a lot of conversations in the offseason about players on your team, on other teams,” Roseman said. “That’s really the job. That’s the fun part of the offseason. The opportunity to improve your team, the opportunity to make trades. But at the end of the day, we’re trying to get better. It’s hard to do that if you’re subtracting great players. We’ll do whatever’s in the best interest of our team to be better for this year and going forward. Anything that puts us in a position that we think to potentially win another championship. Any decision will be made with that, no matter the player.” This has been the repeated company line: The Eagles are not looking to move on from great players. Of course, there’s wiggle room — and that could be contingent upon Brown’s interest in playing in Philadelphia and what the compensation would be from other clubs in a trade. Roseman has acknowledged that he’ll always listen, but the Eagles are not actively shopping Brown through their public comments.
During the 2025 season, it was maddening that the Eagles kept putting Grant Calcaterra on the field to be a blocking tight end, when that is simply not his game. It sounds like Roseman recognized that his priorities at that position have to change a bit going forward. “I would say that the tight end position starts with me in evolving,” Roseman said. “You know, I think that from my perspective, I’ve always had an affinity for receiving tight ends. “And so I think that that’s also something that as you evolve as a GM, as an evaluator, and you watch what’s out there, you got to be cognizant of the fact that at some levels, the game has changed, and so there’s certainly room for both of those spots. I think when you look at our room this year, probably needed more of a diverse skill set at that position. All good players that we had there, but probably could have used [more blocking ability].”
Why the Eagles will miss Jeff Stoutland the scout as much as the o-line coach – NBCSP
The Eagles didn’t just lose one of the NFL’s best offensive line coaches when Jeff Stoutland left the team. They also lost one of the NFL’s best offensive line scouts. Stoutland was intimately involved not just in coaching the Eagles’ offensive linemen over the past 13 years but in scouting them as well. He spoke often about how much he enjoyed watching film of offensive line prospects, quizzing them at the Combine and writing up reports for General Manager Howie Roseman and his staff. He loved that part of it, and he was very good at it. The Eagles drafted six offensive linemen in the first three rounds since Stoutland got here, and four of them have made at least one Pro Bowl – all but Andre Dillard and Tyler Steen. For the first time since 2012, the Eagles are now preparing for a draft without Stout, and that’s a huge adjustment for the entire scouting department. “Yeah, I don’t think it’s a secret how close I am to Stout,” Roseman said. “Not was, I am to Stout. How much I appreciate our relationship, the process that we go through. You know, I probably could have 50 stories on our draft process and how we went through them. And, you know, I miss him. I care about him. But, obviously, You know, there’s a change there, and so we’ll continue to move on.”
Landon Dickerson makes it clear he’s coming back – PFT
Another week, another key member of the Eagles’ offensive line decides to return for at least another season. Via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, guard Landon Dickerson posted on social media images making clear his intention to play in 2026. [BLG Note: It was previously reported that Dickerson is returning but good to see additional confirmation from the man himself.]
“Jake has been a tremendous kicker for us since we got him off (the) practice squad in Cincinnati in 2017,” Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said Tuesday at the NFL Combine. “Tremendously clutch. Have a lot of confidence in him as a player, as a kicker, as a person, a captain on our team and continue to believe in him as our place kicker.” The Eagles can and should improve the kicker position in 2026, but it won’t be easy. More likely than not, Elliott will return for financial reasons, even though his recent performance doesn’t warrant it. Cutting him with a post-June 1 designation would leave the team with a dead-cap hit of just over $7 million and a $2.1 million salary-cap charge.
Spadaro: Inside Howie Roseman’s approach to building consistency – PhiladelphiaEagles.com
Translation: The Eagles want continuity, want to keep as many of their quality players as possible, and that could mean a limit on what they are able – or interested – to do in free agency with players on the street. What the Eagles want to do is keep as many of their top-level players as possible, continue to win in the NFL Draft, approach free agency judiciously, and develop the entire roster, top to bottom. That includes the 2025 Rookie Class, which should have a greater impact moving forward.
Enter Pro Athlete Community, an organization dedicated to supporting professional athletes across all sports as they transition into post-playing careers. Graham, 37, got involved with the organization in its early stages in 2018, just after the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII win. “When we won, when I finally got out of that label, I started to really take it seriously and try to make sure that I have something to look forward to when I’m done, so that I won’t be behind the eight ball on that,” Graham said. PAC claims to be like “the locker room outside the locker room.” Through group conferences and networking events, it connects active and retired pro athletes with business leaders and career fields that are interested in bringing pro athletes into the fold.
Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey calls reported contract offer ‘fake’ – Blogging The Boys
This is an Instagram Reel where 105.3 The Fan was discussing the report from the DMN. Aubrey responded with one word and called it ‘fake’ which suggests that it was not real. Negotiations of this level often involve a back and forth. The Cowboys have one position, Brandon has another, and hopefully they will meet in the middle soon enough. It would be interesting to hear what Brandon feels is fake about the offer. Is it the offer Dallas has? Is it that he wants $10M per season? His disagreement would be important perspective. For now… we wait.
Three free agent linebackers the Washington Commanders could target in 2026 – Hogs Haven
The elephant in the room is the expected departure of Bobby Wagner. The future Hall of Fame linebacker gave the Commanders a couple of good years, but as the team looks to get younger and faster on defense, Bobby’s time looks to be at an end. This leaves a large hole in the middle that will need to be filled. Jones is expected to prioritize fast, athletic, sideline-to-sideline linebackers that can tackle, cover, and blitz.
NY Giants news: Malik Nabers could be ‘ready to go’ for training camp – Big Blue View
General manager Joe Schoen said Nabers is aiming to be ready for training camp. “I’ve been texting with him the last couple of days, and he’s in a good spot,” Schoen said. “He feels good, and the plan is hopefully for him to get ready for training camp. Don’t hold me to it. Things change.” “Hopefully there’s no setbacks, but the plan is for him to be ready to go for training camp.” Nabers being ready for camp would be great news for the Giants as they try to get off to a good start in the John Harbaugh era.
