The New York Giants finally fixed their offensive line in 2025 and ranked 5th in rushing yardage, 4th in rushing touchdowns and 11th in pass block win rate. However, that doesn’t mean that they’re done with the offensive line. While they’ve found solid depth at offensive tackle and center, free agency could leave the team with holes at right guard and right tackle.
Oregon guard Emmaneul Pregnon was one of the best interior offensive linemen in the nation in 2025 and played a big part in Oregon’s push for the National Championship. He played left guard almost exclusively over the last three years, however he could transition to the right side.
How interested should the Giants be in Pregnon if he lasts to the top of the second round?

Best traits

- Pass protection
- Competitive toughness
Emmanuel Pregnon is a good-sized guard who manages to combine explosive power with surprising quickness and athleticism.
Pregnon has a good frame at 6-foot-5, 318 pounds (unofficial), with great thickness and muscularity in his upper and lower halves. He has evident power and is able to drive defenders off the ball when blocking downhill. Pregnon is more than just a bowling ball, however, and he has very good movement skills.
He’s able to move laterally to match speed rushers on the inside, redirect to pick up blitzers from the second level, or adjust to deal with stunts and twists along the line of scrimmage. He’s also fluid enough to open his hips and get out in front of plays as a pulling guard or work up to the second level off of double-teams.
Pregnon typically blocks with good technique, consistently seeking inside leverage and using great grip strength to win the leverage battle and control defenders. He’s a reliable pass protector as well as a versatile run blocker and gave up just 5 total pressures in 15 games (1 sack, 2 hits, 2 hurries).
Finally, Pregnon is a tough, nasty blocker along the interior. He works to sustain his blocks and finish whenever he can, and seems to relish delivering hits when blocking at the second level. He’ll also hustle downfield to help push the ball carrier for extra yards whenever the opportunity arises.
Weaknesses
Worst traits
- Arm length
There are very few weaknesses in Pregnon’s game. He’s a clean and well-rounded guard prospect who might not be elite in any one area, but is very good in almost every area.
The only thing to mar his draft profile is a concern regarding his arm length. Pregnon’s arms seem to be on the short side, and he can struggle some with long-limbed defenders on tape. He is never dominated, as his technique, leverage, play strength, and athleticism all allow him to compensate against long-armed tackles. However, those are more stalemates, and often leave tackles more free to disengage and make plays on the ball carrier.
He can also be forced to give ground and use his footwork to deal with bullrushes if the defender is able to win inside leverage.

Projection
Emmanuel Pregnon projects as a starting guard at the NFL level, who should be able to start Day 1 and can develop into a Pro Bowl player.
Pregnon has mostly played left guard in college, but has experience at right guard and should be able to play either. He’s a versatile player who can fit in any blocking scheme at the NFL level, and is a good pass protector as well as a run blocker who can execute man or zone schemes.
Teams may be a bit concerned with his arm length, which could keep him out of the first round. However there’s too much to like for Pregnon to wait long to hear his name called if he lasts to the second day of the draft.
Does he fit the Giants? Yes, pending free agency
Final Word: A late first or early first round pick
