The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine explained

The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, the premier event in the annual pre-draft process, will be held this week in Indianap0lis. NFL teams, including the New York Giants, will send battalions of scouts, front office members, and coaches to watch players get tested in on-field drills, and to get to know them off the field.

Here is everything you need to know about this year’s Combine.

When is the Combine?

On-field workouts, the part that fans are truly interested in, begin on Thursday and run through Sunday with different position groups on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium each day.

Truthfully, though, the Combine is already underway for players and teams.

Players began arriving in Indianapolis on Sunday. Team interview with players, a critical part of the process as teams get to know the young men hopeful of becoming NFL players, begin on Monday.

Players will be weighed, measured, undergo a battery of medical tests, be interviewed by teams and the media, and finally tested and timed in a variety of on-field drills designed to test their strength, speed, and agility.

Here is the full schedule of events for players:

The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine explained

How to watch the Combine

You can watch the workouts live on NFL Network and NFL. Times are Eastern.

  • Thursday (3 p.m.) — Defensive linemen and linebackers
  • Friday (3 p.m.) — Defensive backs and tight ends
  • Saturday (1 p.m.) — Quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs
  • Sunday (1 p.m.) — Offensive linemen

What else happens at the Combine?

Most coaches and general managers are available to media on Tuesday. Giants GM Joe Schoen will speak at 10 a.m. Head coach John Harbaugh will speak at 1 p.m.

The other thing that happens during the Combine, even though it technically is not supposed to, is the beginning of serious free agency negotiations. The legal tampering window opens on March 9, with the signing period starting on March 11.

On the first day of the tampering window, we will hear about mega-deals having been reached by many of the high-profile free agents. That will be because of the late-night groundwork laid by player agents and team contract negotiators gathered in Indianapolis for the next few days.

Can fans attend the Combine?

Yes. The NFL offers a ‘Combine Experience’ for fans from Thursday through Sunday while on-field events are being held inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Details can be found here.
