The Philadelphia Eagles have still yet to officially announce their 2026 coaching staff since their 2025 season ended on January 11. But we continue to hear leaks about the changes they’re expected to make.
The latest news is that the Eagles are promoting offensive quality control coach Montgomery VanGorder to assistant quarterbacks coach, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
VanGorder only joined the Eagles last year after notably working with Carson Beck (a potential Day 2 or Day 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft) and Stetson Bennett at Georgia while the Bulldogs won back-to-back national championships. Prior to coaching, VanGorder was a depth quarterback at Notre Dame for multiple years before transferring and starting for Youngstown State in 2018.
It was previously reported that the Eagles reassigned Parks Frazier, who has limited experience working directly with quarterbacks, to QB coach. Now we know VanGorder will be joining Frazier in that position room to work with Jalen Hurts and others.
