The Cincinnati Bengals’ 2026 coaching staff is set, and with it comes new roles for a few coaches. The majority of the 2025 staff will remain in place, but some coaches got new titles.
James Casey, the Bengals’ tight ends coach since 2019, also got the title of Run Game Coordinator. Former offensive line coach Frank Pollack was the last coach to have that title before he was let go after the 2024 season. That title is more traditionally given to offensive line or running back coaches, so Casey getting the distinction is a bit interesting.
Jordan Salkin, who was the assistant wide receivers coach last season, was promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach. His departure from the wide receiver room cleared the way for Koetter to become the new assistant under Troy Walters.
Ronnie Regula was promoted to assistant linebackers coach, working under Mike Hodges. Regula was previously a defensive assistant before moving up in the ranks. He will help Hodges mold the young linebacker room and hopefully see better results than we saw last season.
Mike Moon also made a jump from defensive analyst to assistant defensive line coach, working under Jerry Montgomery. The focus for that room will likely be pass rush, so Moon may get to work hands-on with younger prospects like Shemar Stewart and Myles Murphy.
One coaching addition was also made, as Davis Koetter was officially announced as assistant wide receivers coach.
A couple of new titles and an addition to the wide receiver room are all we will see in terms of changes to the staff, so here’s to hoping free agency and the NFL Draft can help give fans a much better product on the field in 2026.
