The biggest offseason needs for all 32 NFL teams: QBs, WRs and pass rush help? – The Athletic
Philadelphia Eagles — Offensive line: The Eagles can no longer put off a succession plan for five-time All-Pro Lane Johnson. The soon-to-be 36-year-old missed the last eight games of the 2025 season after suffering a Lisfranc injury in a Week 11 win over the Detroit Lions. Signs point to Johnson returning for his 14th season, but it behooves the Eagles to invest in a successor — preferably one who can also offer snaps at guard in the meantime. A banged-up Eagles’ O-line includes left guard Landon Dickerson, who has undergone over a dozen surgeries in his career and was notably reflective about his future after playing through pain for yet another season. GM Howie Roseman built one of the NFL’s best units. He must act proactively to avoid sudden setbacks.
NFL insider talks A.J. Brown trade rumors and possibility of the Eagles drafting a quarterback – BGN
Some seem to believe that A.J. Brown’s recent public comments indicate he’ll definitely be back with the Philadelphia Eagles next season. Case closed. The sense here is that sentiment is more wishful thinking than reality. Recent reporting claims Brown’s “relationship with the team remains somewhat tenuous.” One NFL insider said he expects Brown trade talks to pick up at the NFL Combine, which is typically a precursor to NFL free agency activity. The latest on Brown comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who had the following to say on Thursday morning’s edition of Get Up.
Could The Eagles Be In Trouble This Coming Season? (PST Episode 654) – Philadelphia Sports Table
The Philadelphia Eagles have been retooling their offensive coaching in recent days and weeks since the end of the season. We also know there are a bunch of defensive free agents that may hit the market and leave Philly. Could the Eagles be in trouble this coming season? This week, Brandon Lee Gowton – BLG – from BleedingGreenNation.com joined the pod for a conversation about the current state of this Eagles team and where this offseason may go. It was a fantastic discussion!
2026 NFL offseason: Free agency, draft questions for all 32 teams – ESPN
Will the Eagles trade WR A.J. Brown? Brown has made his mark as arguably the best receiver in Philadelphia’s history, posting two 1,400-plus-yard seasons and reaching two Super Bowls since joining the team in 2022. His frustrations with the offense have been well documented, however, and it’s fair to wonder if that impacted his play in 2025. The front office will have to decide if it can get Brown to buy in or if it’s better to move on from him. “It is hard to find great players in the NFL and A.J.‘s a great player,” general manager Howie Roseman said in January.
“I think whatever was affecting A.J. affected the team,” Kelce said. “And I think that A.J. was clearly affected. I don’t know to what degree A.J. affected the other guys, probably a little bit. Whenever you have somebody who doesn’t have the right energy come through the building and you can just feel it. It’s not good, right? But, I think the reality is most of the words that come out of the building — from players, from coaches, from everybody — love A.J. Brown. … There’s a genuine appreciation for A.J. Do you know how hard that is when it’s so apparent that he’s frustrated on the field?
Should the Eagles exercise their fifth-year options for Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith? – PhillyVoice
If the Eagles lose Phillips to some other team in March, picking up Nolan Smith’s fifth-year option will be a very easy decision. If they are able re-sign Phillips to a long-term extension, I believe they will still pick up Smith’s fifth-year option. The question going forward in that scenario then just becomes a matter of how many edge defenders they can afford to pay. f they believe they can pay good money to three edge defenders, then it’s an easy decision to exercise Smith’s fifth-year option. If they don’t think they can pay three edge defenders good money, they can buy more time on choosing which players to retain by exercising Smith’s fifth-year option, as both Smith and Hunt would be under the team’s control through the 2027 season. #JimmyVerdict: Exercise it. ✅.
Cooper DeJean weighs in on an Eagles’ offseason of changes – NBCSP
In just two short years in the NFL, Cooper DeJean has already won a Super Bowl and has become a Pro Bowler and All-Pro. But one of the guys who helped him achieve all that is gone. Earlier this offseason, Eagles defensive backs coach Christian Parker left the organization to take the defensive coordinator job in Dallas. DeJean on Thursday spoke to NBC Sports Philadelphia, via his partnership with the wellness brand RENPHO, about some of the changes this offseason. “He meant a lot to me. Me and Q (Quinyon Mitchell), especially,” DeJean said. “The time he poured into us in the film room, on the field, wherever it may be. He poured a lot of his time into us, making sure that we were ready each and every week. Whether we were up in his office watching film with him on who we were playing or out on the field working on technique and things like that.

Browns seek interview with a familiar DC candidate – Dawgs By Nature
Todd Monken is familiar with Cory Undlin after the two worked together with the Jacksonville Jaguars for two years (2009 and 2010). Undlin also was part of Schwartz’ defensive staff with the Philadelphia Eagles for four seasons (2016 to 2019), which means he is familiar with the defensive schemes that Schwartz used so succesfully during his time with the Browns.
The NFL offseason is often a theater for the bold, and former New England Patriots cornerback Jason McCourty recently took center stage on ESPN’s Get Up with a trade proposal that has everyone hypothesizing. McCourty floated the idea of the Dallas Cowboys sending star wide receiver George Pickens to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for premier edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Many Dallas fans have already visualized Crosby in a Cowboys uniform when he was a huge topic of discussion during last year’s trade deadline. He’s clearly a recurring pipe dream. But McCourty has added another element to the mix, as this scenario forces the front office to choose in a rare star-for-star swap. That’s a bit of a curveball as fans preferred to have both, but if we want to seriously consider such a trade, we should entertain the following questions.
We saw Howie Roseman forced to let key players like Milton Williams leave in free agency a year ago — and the Eagles are expected to be awarded 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks in this year’s draft as partial compensation. I’m guessing that Howie will try to avoid a similar situation playing out in the ‘26 offseason with Jaelan Phillips, who will likely be one of three priority extensions along with Dallas Goedert and Nakobe Dean. If he makes it to free agency, I wouldn’t be opposed to Washington trying to sign him but I expect to see him back in Philly in 2026.
How fast can the Giants turn their defense around? – Big Blue View
The problem now is that the defense has mostly been awful for the past three years…just when the NFL pendulum seems to be swinging back toward “defense wins championships.” The Seahawks provide an interesting lesson on how to reach that point, although they haven’t been worse than 7-10 (in 2021) in any year since 2009. That’s OK – Aaron Schatz’s Defense-Adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) stat, which measures success on a play-by-play basis considering game situation and opponent, ranks Seattle’s 2025 defense as the 8th best since he started calculating DVOA in 1978. As Giants fans we’re not that greedy. We’ll settle for new head coach and defensive coordinator John Harbaugh and Dennard Wilson building a defense good enough to compete for Super Bowls, even if it’s not an all-time great one.
