Garafolo: A.J. Brown’s future with the Eagles in doubt | ‘NFL GameDay Morning’ – NFL.com
MIKE GARAFOLO: “Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was in town this week. I spoke to him very briefly the other day and I said ‘Hey, what’s going on?‘ And he said ‘Hey, a lot of this is out of my control at this point.’ Look, there’s been speculation about A.J. Brown being traded. I’ll raise my hand, I’ve speculated it myself. And that speculation may end up being true. But there’s a difference between speculation and founded … rumors, we’ll call them? And right now multiple sources involved tell me a couple of things. One, there’s been no trade talks yet between the Eagles and some other teams. And there’s been only brief talks with Brown’s camp from the team. We do expect that to pick up around the scouting combine, which is only two weeks away. I will say, though, that everyone says A.J. Brown right now is in a good space and, just in my time talking to him briefly, I got the sense that he was much more at peace and much more calm about things. Maybe removing himself from the emotion of the situation [helped]. If they trade him, it’ll be a $43.5 million cap hit, so they’ll want some significant compensation back if it gets to that.”
Let’s Talk About AJ – Iggles Blitz
A lot of people listened to those comments and got excited. AJ said all the right things. I can see why that would get people to feel encouraged about his return. On the other hand, I have a hard time ignoring what we saw and heard from September to January. AJ seemed like a very disgruntled player throughout the season. Maybe the frustrating season got the best of him. Maybe some time away has given him good perspective and he’s got a clear head now. I would love to think that’s the case. The skeptic in me sees that video and doesn’t fully buy it. Those comments have a feel of someone saying the right things for PR purposes. So why would he do that? If AJ wants out of Philly, he would want to go somewhere good. The Eagles would have more trade partners if teams think AJ isn’t a headcase. Players with baggage are harder to deal. AJ helps his situation by doing and saying the right things. […] If I had to bet a paycheck, I’d bet that AJ gets traded. I guess one good thing is that Howie has done a good job of managing complicated situations over the years. If anyone can find a way to make this work, it could be him, probably with some help from Big Dom.
Super Bowl Sunday will be a super struggle for these current and former NFL figures – The Athletic
A.J. Brown. By late October, it was clear that Brown was fed up with the Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Philly was underutilizing its star receiver, and the trade deadline loomed. It stands to reason that Brown turned his gaze northward toward Foxboro where Vrabel, his former coach in Tennessee, was presiding over a Patriots turnaround, and Maye, the team’s exceptionally accurate second-year quarterback, was becoming a star. Brown and Diggs on opposite sides of the line of scrimmage? It could have been amazing. For Brown, a year after experiencing a championship, this Super Bowl may be hard to watch. Maybe he’ll read a book instead.
Counting down the 10 most disappointing Eagles in 2025 – NBCSP
A.J. Brown: Brown still had a good year and surpassed 1,000 yards for the fourth straight season and sixth time in seven seasons. But this is a guy who had close to 1,500 yards in 2022 and 2023 and from a pure talent standpoint is a top-five WR in the NFL, and he finished 18th among WRs in receiving yards this year. But beyond the lack of production – and certainly Kevin Patullo’s play calling and Jalen Hurts’ inconsistency were a part of that – are the distractions that he caused with his passive aggressive social media posts and erratic sideline behavior and how his unhappiness affected his play on the field. It’s one thing to be frustrated. It’s another to let it spill over into your performance, and Brown let that happen. And it’s impossible to talk about him without considering how awful he was in the playoff loss to the 49ers. He can be and should be so much better than what we saw this year.
NFL Mock Draft 2026: Eagles 7-round simulation, Version 4.0 – BGN
Pick 2.54: Eli Stowers, Tight End, Vanderbilt. We don’t really know what the Sean Mannion offense will look like. If we extrapolate based on the Lafleur, McVay, and Shanahan influences, it’s reasonable to assume that a pass-catching tight end will be very important. Over the years, those offenses have relied on Tucker Kraft, George Kittle, Tyler Higbee, Jordan Cameron, Fred Davis, and the list goes on. It’s possible the Eagles try keeping Dallas Goedert for another year, but if they want to bring in young blood, it’s hard not to love what Eli Stowers could bring to this passing game. Stowers isn’t going to wow anyone as a blocker given he’s only 235 pounds, but he is a great receiver from the tight end position. At 6’4”, with long arms, he is a match up nightmare in the passing game. He is big and strong enough to win at the catch point, but athletic enough to make guys miss with the ball in his hands. He could be a weapon in the Eagles passing game.
Super Bowl buzz: Latest on NFL free agency, trades, coaches – ESPN
One of the coaching moves that raised a lot of eyebrows this week was the resignation of longtime Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland after 13 years with the organization. Stoutland wasn’t fired, but the Eagles indicated to him that they were considering changing his role and giving the title of run game coordinator to someone else. Stoutland is at the point in his career where he didn’t feel he should have to accept a reduction in responsibilities, and so he left. Most people seem to think this is a massive loss for the Eagles, as Stoutland has been a constant amid coaching changes over the years and is credited with a lot of the Eagles’ offensive successes during that time. There are also rumblings about the possibility that 35-year-old right tackle Lane Johnson and 27-year-old left guard Landon Dickerson are both considering retirement this offseason. Dickerson played through a ton of injuries this past season, and there’s some chatter that he might have had enough of putting his body through what it takes to get ready to play week in and week out. A lot of players go through these kinds of decisions every offseason, and it’s possible Dickerson and/or Johnson are back in 2026. But Stoutland won’t, and that could be just one part of an offseason of significant change for an offensive line that has formed the backbone of much of Philadelphia’s success over the past decade.
Milton Williams was autographing Super Bowl LIX merchandise about a week after the Eagles routed the Kansas City Chiefs when general manager Howie Roseman sidled up next to him. Williams had four pressures, two sacks and a forced fumble as he and his fellow linemen pounded quarterback Patrick Mahomes in New Orleans a year ago. Roseman had come to congratulate the defensive tackle, but also to intimate that the Eagles would not be offering a contract extension to the free agent-to-be. “That was when all the players sign the Super Bowl merch,” Williams said to The Inquirer on Wednesday. “[Roseman’s message] was like, ‘Get the most you can.’ Once I heard that — and meanwhile I was talking to my agent about the deal — I thought, ‘They’re probably not going to offer.’” (Through an Eagles spokesman, Roseman confirmed the exchange occurred.) He was right. Williams said he was crushed. He said he wanted to stay in Philadelphia. “We had just won a Super Bowl. Of course I didn’t want to leave,” Williams said. “But I got to do what’s best for me. They had their agenda of what they wanted to accomplish, and I wasn’t part of it. So they let me go.”

Sources: Cowboys will place franchise tag on George Pickens; here’s what’s next – Blogging The Boys
The Dallas Cowboys have officially signaled their intent to place the franchise tag on star wide receiver George Pickens. By applying this designation, the front office ensures that one of their most important offensive weapons remains under Cowboys control and prevents other teams from entering a bidding war for his services. It is a strategic move that reflects both his value and the team’s desire to maintain a strong offense.

NY Giants news: OL coach from Bill Callahan tree hired by John Harbaugh – Big Blue View
The New York Giants are hiring Mike Bloomgren as their offensive line coach, per Bob Brookover of NJ Advance Media. Bloomgren was offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns under Kevin Stefanski. Giants fans hoping for Jeff Stoutland, who recently stepped down as offensive line coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, will be disappointed. The other name that had been prominently mentioned as a possibility was Juan Castillo, a long-time offensive line coach now at Syracuse. John Harbaugh, though, has selected the 49-year-old Bloomgren.
