L.A. Rams News: Would they have any interest in this backup?

Maybe the Rams would be interested in having him as a backup, he would give a mobile edge that most quarterbacks don’t have. It’s interesting. It’s speculation season.

$71 million contract is being tossed around in this headline below, I don’t know about all that, but I do think Willis could get a chance to start on a much more manageable contract. Another offseason of possibilities for players like Willis to earn the chance to shine.

Happy Thursday, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and it’s almost Friday!

Vikings, Rams, Steelers, Colts predicted to battle for $71 million free agent quarterback (sportingnews)

“The Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Indianapolis Colts will be in the quarterback market this offseason, and could be interested in a pending free-agent signal-caller from the Green Bay Packers.

Malik Willis is expected to be a hot commodity on the market after showing a ton of promise with Green Bay over the last two seasons, and A to Z Sports’ Wendell Ferreira believes the Vikings, Rams, Steelers, and Colts are possible landing spots for the 26-year-old.“

“So, what does the team have planned for their young NFL stars? If you can take head coach Sean McVay at face value, they are all in line to get extensions. It’s all very exciting news for fans who love the production of wide receiver Puka Nacua, edge rusher Byron Young, defensive lineman Kobie Turner, and interior offensive lineman Steve Avila.

But it’s also news that 31 other NFL general managers loathe to hear.

No, it won’t be easy. The team will need to be very creative to keep all four players under the 2026 NFL salary cap, and still leave room to add additional key players through other extensions, free agency, and the draft. But where there is a will, there is a way. And fans can at least celebrate the news that the team will try to get all four back for 2027.“

“Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead talks about his experience working alongside head coach Sean McVay, the impact of the 2023 NFL Draft class, and his outlook on building the 2026 roster with two first‑round picks.”

“Draft a guy who is a bona fide threat to return kicks like the guy Seattle traded for mid season, if there is one available. Whittington was ok and Smith was ok till the last game but they don’t strike fear in the opposing teams.

And Mevis did a good job stepping in but remember he missed that kick with two minutes against Seattle… if the Rams win that game I believe they would have hosted the Squaks instead the other way around. What I’m saying draft or bring another kicker in camp and have a three way completion with the that person, Mevis and Kardy. Competition doesn’t hurt anyone.“ -LaRams&NyMets
