We’ve finally come to the final week of the 2025-2026 season, and there’s just one more game to play: Super Bowl LX.
Unfortunately, the New York Giants didn’t make the playoffs this year. The historic number of “shoulda been” wins suggests they might be closer to punching their ticket to the dance than their record would suggest, but that’s for next year.
For now, 29 other teams are joinging the Giants in the spectator seats as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots face off in the 60th Super Bowl.
The Giants have had other things on their mind lately — like figuring out who’s going to be coaching them next year — so we haven’t been spending much energy on the matchup in the Big Game. This year we have a rematch from Super Bowl 49 in 2014, which famously ended on an interception at the goal line with the Seahawks down by four and 20 seconds left in the game.
The two teams are back eleven years later, this time with a pair of third overall picks at quarterback. Second year quarterback Drake Maye at the helm for the Patriots, while former New York Jets QB Sam Darnold leads the Seahawks after a long and wandering path through the NFL.
These two teams feature excellent offenses and defenses. The Patriots are ranked 4th in passing, 6th in rushing, and 2nd in total scoring, while the Seahawks are ranked 8th in passing, 10th in rushing, and 3rd in total scoring.
Defensively, the Seahawks are 6th in yards allowed (10th in passing yardage, 3rd in rushing yardage), and 1st in points allowed. The Patriots, meanwhile, are 8th in yards allowed (9th in passing, 6th in rushing), and are 4th in points allowed.
This has the makings of an excellent game, so now the question is: Who ya got?
Will Sam Darnold make the Jets and Vikings both look foolish by winning the Super Bowl after being let go by them? Or will the Football Gods decide that no, it isn’t too soon for the Patriots to win it all again and they’ll complete their comeback?
Of course, as mentioned, the Giants have been too busy to give much thought to this year’s Super Bowl. They’ve been occupied with hiring the coaching staff they hope will bring them to next year’s Super Bowl.
And on that note, now that John Harbaugh has hired his offensive and defensive coordinators, we want to know how you feel about the decisions. The decision to hire Matt Nagy came out of the blue (no pun intended) and has obviously generated an intense reaction among Giants fans, and the decision to hire Dennard Wilson was met with skepticism as well.
It’s safe to say that neither coach was who Giants fans initially thought they’d be getting. But now that the decisions are made, how do you feel about the hires?
