If the Philadelphia Eagles want to hire Jim Bob Cooter (whom they’ve interviewed twice), they might have some competition.
The New York Giants are also talking to the Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator for their OC opening on John Harbaugh’s staff, according to a report from NFL insider Peter Schrager.
It was originally believed that Todd Monken was going to join Harbaugh in North Jersey but the former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator was hired as the Cleveland Browns’ new head coach.
If Cooter receives job offers from both teams, it’ll be interesting to see which one he picks. He has more ties to the Eagles since he worked for Philadelphia in 2021 and he previously worked with Nick Sirianni prior to that year. But the Giants might offer him more control of their offense.
Perhaps it won’t come to that. Maybe the Eagles don’t actually want to hire Cooter. Or maybe he is their guy. It’s currently unclear.
Something to monitor.
