If you ask people why the Los Angeles Rams ended up losing to the Seattle Seahawks, then you may hear about a fumble by the punt return team leading to a Seahawks touchdown. You may also hear about Sam Darnold carving up L.A.’s defense when he needed to, and that’s true too.
Rams’ two biggest flaws came back to bite them vs. Seahawks (ramswire)
“Cornerback play and special teams.
There were other shortcomings on their roster, but those were their most troublesome spots throughout the year. Special teams was particularly problematic. Blocked and missed kicks plagued the Rams early in the season, leading to changes at long snapper and kicker. Ethan Evans was up and down as a punter, penalties changed field position and worst of all, in the biggest game on Sunday night, Xavier Smith muffed two punts in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.“
There were other errors too, such as the offense stalling out at certain points and then in the end, they couldn’t figure out how to score the go-ahead TD. It’s a disappointing reality that the team lost together, but you can’t deny that Mattew Stafford did enough to probably earn the win. So, take that for what’s it’s worth.

Big Picture: How One Unlucky Play vs. Seattle Altered Rams QB Matthew Stafford’s Legacy (foxsports.com)
“On the Rams’ final meaningful drive, Stafford dropped back on fourth-and-4 from the 6-yard line. The savvy quarterback knew the ins and outs of the Seattle defense, and he seemed to identify that the best option on the play would be Williams, who would leak out into the flat near the first-down marker and the end-zone line.
Stafford must not have believed what he was seeing: Williams was double-covered.
“They kind of lucked into having two guys peel on Kyren right there,” McVay said at a postgame press conference. “I know that can’t be part of their design.”
