Eagles Question of the Day:

Are you looking forward to Super Bowl LX? Head over to The Feed and weigh in with your answer and explanation!

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …

NFL free agency: 11 players who deserve big-money deals after strong 2025 seasons – NFL.com

JAELAN PHILLIPS: After missing significant time with injuries in 2023 and ‘24, Phillips made his impact felt during a healthy ‘25 campaign. The veteran pass rusher was a huge midseason addition for the Eagles, elevating Vic Fangio’s defense in the second half of the season by disrupting opposing quarterbacks. After trading for Phillips prior to Week 10, the Eagles ranked first in points per game allowed (15.6) and opposing completion percentage (54.3) and tied for fifth in sacks (26) over the final nine weeks of the regular season. Phillips posted two sacks, seven QB hits and 34 pressures (per NGS) during that span, and he didn’t play in Week 18. Phillips is a complete defensive end and he reminded everyone what he’s capable of under Fangio’s tutelage.

Eagles to interview former Philly QB for offensive coordinator – BGN

With the first, and maybe second, batch of candidate names now unavailable, the Eagles have turned their attention to some less-speculated options. They’re reportedly interested in talking to Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson.

Nobody wants to be the Eagles offensive coordinator under Nick Sirianni – SB Nation

Nick Sirianni’s sideline antics and frosty demeanor appear to be having a major effect on the Eagles’ ability to find a new offensive coordinator. Two potential coordinators have turned down the job, which is remarkable for an established playoff team that’s one year removed from winning a Super Bowl. Typically this is the kind of gig anyone would want, creating the visibility hopeful head coaches need to catapult themselves into a top role. Instead Philadelphia’s front office is being met with crickets.

2) Replace Jahan Dotson. A lot was made of the non-pass interference call deep down the left sideline in the Eagles’ playoff loss to the 49ers. But a receiver needs to earn those calls. Dotson has not. In the entire NFL, there was only one wide receiver who caught fewer than 29 passes while playing at least 575 snaps. It was Jahan Dotson. He caught 18. The Eagles’ fourth-leading receiver was Saquon Barkley with 50 targets, 37 catches and 273 yards. Dotson was behind him with 36 targets, 18 catches and 262 yards. Only three playoff teams didn’t have a fourth pass-catcher with 300-plus yards: the Eagles, the Seahawks, and the Panthers. Of the 14 teams that made the playoffs, eight had at least five players with 300-plus receiving yards, including six of the eight teams that advanced to the divisional round.

Bears OC Declan Doyle withdraws from consideration for Eagles OC job – Windy City Gridiron

Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle has removed himself from consideration for the Eagles’ vacant offensive coordinator opening, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Monday. Doyle, 29, had been requested to interview with Philadelphia when the Bears’ season ended after their Divisional Round loss to the Rams. Bears head coach Ben Johnson granted him permission to take the interview, with the opportunity to call plays on offense for the Eagles surely being an alluring opportunity. In the end, Doyle returns to Chicago for his second season as the team’s offensive coordinator. He was brought in upon Johnson’s hiring in 2025, having previously served as the tight ends coach for the Broncos.

Green Bay Packers to hire Jonathan Gannon as next defensive coordinator – Acme Packing Company

Well, it looks like Matt LaFleur won’t be waiting for Jim Leonhard after all. On Sunday morning, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Green Bay Packers will be hiring Jonathan Gannon, the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, as their next defensive coordinator. Many reports stated that Leonhard and Raheem Morris were at the top of Green Bay’s lists to fill the void that Jeff Hafley left when he joined the Miami Dolphins as their next head coach, but that obviously didn’t come to fruition. As far as we know, the interviewed candidates for the Packers’ job were Eagles pass game coordinator Christian Parker, who took the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coordinator opening, Vikings pass game coordinator/defensive backs coach Daronte Jones, Chicago Bears pass game coordinator/defensive backs coach Al Harris and Gannon. Agents usually like to get interview news out there to build buzz for their clients, so those four candidates might be the only ones who came in for a visit. Yes, Hafley’s interview wasn’t reported prior to him inking a deal with Green Bay in 2024, but those were under specific circumstances — as Hafley was a sitting head coach of a college football team.

Cowboys deny Eagles’ request to interview Klayton Adams for OC – Blogging The Boys

Philly recently fired their previous OC, Kevin Patullo, after just one season. It’s no surprise that they’d have interest in Adams, who, in just his first year as the Cowboys’ OC, helped put together one of the NFL’s top-producing offenses in 2025. Even if the Eagles were willing to give Adams play-calling duties, which Brian Schottenheimer held on to as head coach last year, that wouldn’t elevate the transaction. Whether or not it’s a lateral move is based entirely on the job title. So, unless Philly wants to fire Nick Sirianni, they can’t get to Adams this year. Not only is Adams a rising star in the offensive coaching ranks, but his arrival coincided with a major uptick in Dak Prescott’s performance. This new braintrust of Schottenheimer, Adams, and Prescott worked very well last year and is worth preserving, especially as Dallas and Christian Parker focus on getting the defense back up to snuff. It’s always fun to hand the Eagles a loss, even in the offseason. Just another fun week in one of the NFL’s best rivalries.

The Cold, Hard Truth: Washington lacks elite talent – Hogs Haven

I think we can all agree that the Commanders are SEVERLY lacking overall team talent, and DEFINITELY don’t have what I consider any true ELITE players. That said, I do believe we have some players who could become very good/elite if put in the right situations.

NY Giants news: John Harbaugh hires defensive, special teams coordinators – Big Blue View

The New York Giants filled two of their three coordinator positions on Sunday. The Giants are hiring Dennard Wilson as defensive coordinator, according to a published report. They are also hiring Chris Horton as their special teams coordinator. Big Blue View was able to confirm both hirings. Wilson, 43, worked for head coach John Harbaugh as defensive backs coach with the Baltimore Ravens in 2024. He interviewed for the Giants’ defensive coordinator position in 2023, but chose to take that role with the Tennessee Titans. He was let go when Tennessee hired Robert Saleh as its head coach recently. Wilson’s defenses did not rank highly in Tennessee as the Titans won just six games in two seasons, but that did not dissuade Harbaugh from bringing him to the Giants.

Chargers make it official with new OC Mike McDaniel – Bolts From The Blue

The Chargers have finally made it official with their own unique announcement regarding their new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. After about a week since the initial reports that the Bolts were expected to hire McDaniel to replace Greg Roman, the social media team dropped a snippet from a video with McDaniel wearing the powder blue and gold while being instructed how the “introduction video” will be shot. At the end, McDaniel introduces himself as the offensive coordinator for the Chargers.

NFC Hierarchy/Obituary: The final 2025-2026 edition – PhillyVoice

OOOOOPS, lol. Sam Darnold was fantastic in the NFC Championship Game, completing 25 of 36 passes for 346 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs. If he can play anywhere remotely close to that level in a couple weeks, he will be holding a Lombardi Trophy over his head. He’s making a lot of folks look bad, like the Vikings, Geno Smith, all the teams he has beaten this season, and dorks with keyboards like me, who almost universally wrote him off before the season even began.
