The Miami Dolphins are well into their search for a new head coach as the calendar moves into the second week since the 2025 NFL regular season ended. The Dolphins used the first week to find their new general manager, Jon-Eric Sullivan, and then spent time over the weekend aligning their interview plans as the search for Mike McDaniel’s replacement. They held their first interview, a virtual meeting with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak on Saturday, meeting the requirement to hold an in-person interview before the Super Bowl should Seattle continue in the playoffs.
On Tuesday, the Dolphins will hold their first reported in-person interview. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport are reporting Miami is set to meet with former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski today. Stefanski has previously interviewed with the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Baltimore Ravens.
Cleveland fired the 2020 and 2023 NFL Coach of the Year at the end of this season. Before moving to the Browns, Stefanski worked for the Minnesota Vikings, starting as an assistant to the head coach in 2006. He worked his way through various duties, including assistant quarterbacks coach, tight ends coach, running backs coach, quarterbacks coach, and offensive coordinator over 14 years with the Vikings.
He was 45-56 in six regular seasons with Cleveland and was 1-2 in the playoffs.
