The Eagles had a big game on Sunday and the sidelines at Lincoln Financial Field were filled with Philadelphia alumni, including some players who are retired, and others whose teams have been eliminated — and then there’s Darius Slay, who is technically still claimed by the Bills but still opted to attend the Eagles game instead of Buffalo’s earlier the same day.
Slay wasn’t the only former Eagles’ DB in attendance, Avonte Maddox was also there since the Lions were already eliminated from the postseason. Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox are regulars since their recent retirements, and Corey Clement and Alshon Jeffery always show love to Philadelphia and fans. Jason Avant was also there, and Rodney McLeod, and many of the old school players who have stayed around the franchise.
Several players have talked about how head coach Nick Sirianni runs the team with more of a college feel, and by prioritizing connecting with each other, it’s nice to see alumni flock back to Philly in big moments. It’s also fun that there are so many Super Bowl winning players to return for these runs.
