Miami Dolphins’ Most Valuable Player | Week Eighteen | Maximum effort

Okay, okay, guys. Chill. I wouldn’t go that far.

The Miami Dolphins finished their up-and-down 2025 campaign with a loss on the road against the New England Patriots on Sunday, and I’ve got to be honest, I’m not terribly sad to see this season end. Between the offseason trade drama revolving around Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith, and the Tyreek Hill injury — to the Tua Tagovailoa regression and eventual benching, to Chris Grier’s firing, and Mike McDaniel’s surprising retention… It’s been an exhausting year for this Dolphins fan. Maybe you can empathize?

We now play the waiting game as the Dolphins interview potential general manager candidates. Will they go with one of the three names being mentioned from the San Francisco 49ers, or will they give a hot name like Alec Halaby from the Philadelphia Eagles or Jon Eric Sullivan from the Green Bay Packers a shot? We shall find out soon!

But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s close out this year’s Most Valuable ‘Phin list!

Miami Dolphins Week Eighteen MVP – DT Zach Sieler

Much like many of Miami’s players, Zach Sieler didn’t have quite the year he was hoping for in 2025. In each of the two prior seasons, Sieler notched 10 sacks — but that number dropped to just 5.5 sacks this year. Similarly, with just 47 tackles this season, Miami’s defensive tackle recorded his lowest number in that department since he had a total of 11 in limited playing time with the Baltimore Ravens and Dolphins in 2019.

But one thing that was NOT lacking in Sieler’s game this year was effort.

Through the good times and the bad, Sieler remained a leader both on and off the field — giving 100% every time he stepped between the white lines. His maximum effort was always on full display, even in a lopsided loss in Week 18.

Against the Patriots, Sieler had three tackles, including one tackle for loss, and a leaping field goal block in the first half that saw the 300 lb gargantuan jump so high, Dominique Wilkins would have been impressed.
