New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, rehabbing from a torn ACL, said Monday he is “not really sure” if he will be ready to play when the 2026 season starts next September.
“If my body doesn’t feel right then I’m not gonna go out there,” Nabers said.
“Target date is when my body feels ready to be out there.”
The star wide receiver, who tore his ACL in Week 4, said he is “right on track” in the rehab process.
Nabers said backup quarterback Jameis Winston has helped him since the injury occurred.
“I kept asking him ‘why it happened to me, why it happened to me?’,” Nabers said. “He was like, ‘why not you? Why not go back to the bottom trying to find your way back to the top?’
“I’m taking that, putting it in my head, attacking the rehab as much as I can.”
Nabers was seen using a cane when he arrived at MetLife Stadium for the season finale on Sunday.
“I had a lot messed up in my knee,” Nabers said. “Successfully operated on. It’s gonna take a little bit of time.”
He added that the cane was just a “precaution.”
