Albert Breer reports Raiders could be higher on Dante Moore

The Las Vegas Raiders are in line to have the number one pick in the draft. If they lose to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday the Raiders will have a chance to change their franchise with their first time picking one since 2007.

Of course, Raider Nation does not want a repeat of the last time they selected a quarterback in the first round. JaMarcus Russell was a disaster and set the franchise back until the franchise drafted Derek Carr. However, this year’s draft class is headlined by two potential franchise QBs in Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore.

Mendoza and Moore played well on Thursday, helping lead their teams to the CFP Semifinals. Mendoza is the runner for the pick at this moment, but Albert Breer is reporting they could go a different direction. During his weekly mailbag, he talked about the Raiders’ draft plans.

“I will say it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he is, and he seems like a great kid, and one you can bet on. I’m just not sure, at this early juncture, whether he’ll go ahead of Oregon’s Dante Moore (should Moore turn down whatever Phil Knight’s offering him to stay in Eugene).”

While either player would be an upgrade at the position, a loss to their division rival puts them in a position to dive deep into both players. It will be interesting to see which path they take if they leave Week 18 on the clock.
