L.A. Rams News: Can you win MVP if you lost to the Raiders?

I understand that Drake Maye is expected to win the MVP Award this year and he and his New England Patriots have had a great year, but can you (should you?) win an MVP award when you and your team lose to the worst team in the NFL?

All the way back in Week 1, the Pats lost to the Las Vegas Raiders. That happened. So, just asking for a friend, will the voters take that into consideration? And might those voters consider that the Pats had perhaps the easiest schedule in the league, while the Rams had one of (if not) the hardest schedules in the league?

Don’t get mad at me, I am just asking questions here!

Thank you so much for checking out Turf Show Times, and as they say: Happy New Year’s!

2025 is coming to its end, and 2026 is arriving whether we like or not, though the Los Angeles Rams may be ready to play some games in 2026 since the last few in 2025 haven’t exactly gone their way.

Either way, enjoy the holiday!

Drake Maye is now the prohibitive MVP favorite after Matthew Stafford’s poor MNF outing (sports.yahoo.com)

“On Tuesday morning, Maye was as high as -700 to win the award at BetMGM, before some buyback took him to -500 (implied probability of 83.3%). Stafford is at +325. Bills QB Josh Allen is among three players with the next-best odds at 250-1.

Maye has the second-most wagers (6.5%) and most total dollars wagered (14.11%) at BetMGM to win the award and represents the sportsbook’s biggest liability.“

ESPN’s Joe Buck sounds off on NFL officiating over controversial no-call late in Rams’ loss (foxnews)

“The Falcons kicked the go-ahead field goal late in the fourth quarter, giving the Rams the ball back with less than 30 seconds remaining and no timeouts. On second down, Matthew Stafford took a deep shot to Tutu Atwell.

The pass fell incomplete around the 10-yard line, as the ball bounced off Atwell’s right arm. The “Monday Night Football” broadcast then showed a replay of the incomplete pass which showed Falcons cornerback Dee Alford grabbing Atwell’s left arm, hindering him from making the catch.“

First Look: Rams close out regular season hosting Cardinals in Week 18 (rams.com)

“The Rams (11-5) will close out the regular season with a home game against the Cardinals (3-13) before turning their attention to the playoffs. Kickoff on Sunday from SoFi Stadium is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT on FOX.

In advance of the contest, here is your First Look at Rams-Cardinals, presented by Hawaii Tourism Authority.“
