The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2025 NFL Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills.

The following Eagles players WILL NOT PLAY: Lane Johnson, Nakobe Dean, Michael Carter, Joshua Uche, A.J. Dillon, and Sam Howell.

Lane Johnson hasn’t played since Week 11 due to a foot injury. Seems like the Eagles are saving his return until the playoffs at this point. Fred Johnson will continue to start at right tackle.

Dean is out due to a hamstring injury. First-round rookie Jihaad Campbell is returning to the starting lineup for the first time since Week 8. The Bills will be looking to test Campbell’s run defense.

Uche is a healthy scratch for the fifth game in a row. He hasn’t played a defensive snap since Week 8.

Dillon is a healthy scratch for the ninth time in the Eagles’ last 10 games. He hasn’t played a snap since Week 6.

Michael Carter is a surprise inactive. At 2:41 PM, the Eagles ruled him out due to “not injury related – personal.” Carter normally serves as the backup nickel cornerback, the sixth defensive back in Philly’s dime packages, a special teams contributor, and emergency safety depth.

Brandon Johnson is active after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad for the second game in a row. He could be the the backup nickel behind Cooper DeJean with Carter out. He might also provide safety depth in a pinch.

With Carter out, rookie Mac McWilliams is active for the first time in a long time. He hasn’t played a snap since Week 8.

Howell is the emergency third quarterback. He can only enter the game if both Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee become unavailable.

LB Nakobe Dean – Injury.

CB Michael Carter – Personal reasons.

EDGE Joshua Uche – Fifth edge rusher.

QB Sam Howell – Emergency third quarterback.

Buffalo Bills inactive list

The Bills ruled four players out on Friday’s final injury report: starting defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, starting safety Jordan Poyer, kicker Matt Prater, and rotational defensive tackle Jordan Phillips.

They also ruled two players questionable: top two tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox. Kincaid is INACTIVE while Knox will suit up. Kincaid leads the Bills in touchdown receptions this season. He also ranks second in receiving yards (only behind Khalil Shakir) and tied for second in receptions among all Bills players.
